I remember reading once that the anti-drug education campaign in my state actually resulted in higher drug use, because it made kids more aware of drugs and they could see through the bullshit.

That is pretty common from what I understand. They realize that they are being lied to and want to go out and see what all the hype is about.
Not particularly surprising.
Truth. They are young and they want to try new things. Its better to teach them the stuff that will actually halp the be safe when they do it.
