Are we there yet?

Welcome back to our weekly Drop in the Ocean post where we feature the amazing content that was created for the show.

This weeks topic was Digression and honestly it was a fun topic. You will see from all the posts that everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and we are sure you will too.

Digression is best demonstrated it seems, but one must always be wary that your demonstration does not illustrate something other than what you intend. With digression you need to remember the main topic and not veer instead of merely swerve.

To see what we discussed during the show, you have to keep reading, visit the posts and show some support while you dive deep into the topic of digression from this weeks Drop in the Ocean show.

This weeks posts.

The top two voted writers will 'level up'. When a member has levelled up, they will receive a daily upvote from the BuddyUP account at 50%. The member keeps their level for 2 weeks, unless they level up again on DITO within those 2 weeks. Every time you level up, you will receive an additional 10% on your daily vote, maxing out at level 5.

The writer with the most votes will be resteemed straight after this post. This is so we can all look back at the BuddyUP blog and see the winning posts from each week.

If you are wondering how you can join the Drop in the Ocean show, you will find all the required information at the bottom of this post.

@YouHaveWings

Insightful thoughts reflecting on times of hardship when we turn inward to find answers. Her inner thoughts are shared and expanded on with the help of digression. Articulating the thoughts with the help of more information not directly relating but supporting the main train of thought.

Inside world looks like some sort of epic drama with violin sonatas included!

Although at first the difference between digression and distraction may not be very clear. She humorously demonstrated the difference for those who are still a bit unsure.

To be honest, prior to this post, I think my understanding of digression was slightly confused with 'distraction'.

Her post is informative, insightful and humorous @YouHaveWings shares her take on digression and luckily got to post before she got distracted. - Read her post now.

@Monchhichi23

With the festive season around the corner, many feel one of two things. Excitement for the season of giving or bit of a bitter taste. @monchhichi23 shares why she does not really like the festive season as she takes a moment to tell us while halting her search for grinch decorations.

I'm looking for an inflatable Grinch holiday decoration to put at the corner of my house...

As she explains her reasons for not liking the festive season, this naturally leads into where she would rather be. Head over to read her post as I am sure many of us can relate to her predicament. - Read her post now.

@EagleSpirit

A very funny story involving digression taking us through a dialogue between 911 and a distraught caller who has to digress to even begin to explain the unfortunate but hilarious situation.

@TheHive

At times it will seem like you are always out of time, making things difficult to get around to. Fortunately, @TheHive got around to creating his post for us on digression. Sharing an interesting story and a little of the definition for digression.

The Hive This weeks word. Digress

@JuliaMulcahy

A beautiful poem, even better if you heard her read it. Sharing depth amongst many a digression, @JuliaMulcahy has done a great job not just demonstrating but also inspiring.

A Digression...but from what?

@ShadowsPub

All writers and those who are not should read this thorough explanation on the usage of digression in writing and speech. The skill required to achieve it gracefully and use it to your benefit, a must read on the topic of digression.

Wandering Into the Weeds With Skill and Forethought

@Penderis

We know he is not a fish. He never went to school, instead he keeps saying odd things. Then he does kind of resemble a fish.

Got a Fag?

How do you get involved?

Have you been reading through and wondering how you can get involved with our community/show? Below I've listed the steps to take, so you can jump into the action and share your perspective and views, with all of us here at BuddyUP.

  • Head over to our BuddyUP server. You can do this by following the SafeLink post here.

  • Think about the topic for next week, which is...

Astonish(ment)

  • Write a post about that topic then publish it on Sunday or early Monday so we may have a chance to read your post in time. Once published come by to the Drop in the Ocean show on Monday (20:00 UTC) to present it and join the conversation.

  • You are welcome to bring with a post on the topic from any other sources which you feel will contribute to the discussion. Bring a friend, bring a post and bring yourself.

The final and the most important piece of information is... do not publish your post until Sunday or Monday. This is so we can give you all the best amount of exposure possible on your posts and also so you get paid out on the day of the show; so you can come back with an even bigger smile on your face!
