Sure I have covered in the past cool drones, and their technologies, however I will now focus on what you can do with a drone, and cool ways to use your drone not only for personal reasons.
- Law-Enforcement, Border Patrol, Military - Drones can be used for public safety, monitoring criminal activity, crowd surveillance, crime scene, and fire investigation. Border Patrol and Military could use Drones for Smugglers, Drug Runners, or Illegal immigration, war zone surveillance, enemy location pinpointing, or good old fashion spying haha.
- Storm Tracking, Weather Forecasting - Drones can monitor Tornadoes, Hurricanes, learn more about their behaviors, trajectories etc. These situations are Dangerous, drones take away the risk, they can be equipped with special sensors that gather details or weather patterns, offer new insights into these storms.
- Geographic Mapping - Since Drones are capable of flying hard to reach places such as coastlines, or mountaintops, they are capable of providing hd resolution 3d mapping this could be used to make detailed 3d Maps.
- Agriculture - Drones can be an easy, and cost efficient way to monitor crops, this could lead to improved management and yeild. Near-infrared sensors can be tuned to detect crop health, so farmers can improve conditions with fertilizer, insecticide etc.
- Monitoring Wildlife, Pooching - Drones can monitor salmon, rabbits, sea lions, seals behaviors etc in the wild. You can get close to wildlife without scaring them off, you can monitor at night with thermal imaging, and you are protected from dangerous animals. Poaching is a Huge Problem , bigger than its ever been before, Rhinos, Elephants, Big Cats to name a few are disappearing at an alarming rate, Drones alone offer a good deterrent to poachers, and illegal hunters.
- Search and Rescue - Drones can lower a walkie talkie, gps locater, med. supplies or water to a stranded victim before rescue crews are able to extract them. Drones with thermal sensors can quickly discover the location of lost persons, and are particularly useful at night or in challenging terrain. A search and rescue mission is a battle against time, particularly in harsh conditions, and drones become a powerful tool because of the ease of deployment.
- Filming and Aerial Photography- The ability to collect footage and information for use in live broadcast is a real possibility, and aerial photography for the Real estate market is becoming more popular also. Drones are starting to be used in sports photography and cinematography.
- Shipping,Delivery- No Secret the FFA is not in favor of Drone delivery, company’s like Amazon, UPS and DHL see its potential. Drones can be used to deliver small packages, pizzas, letters, medicines, beverages etc. at short distances.
- Disaster Management- Drones because of their small size, they can provide a close-up view of areas where larger aerial vehicles would prove perilous or inefficient. After a natural or man made disaster, a drone provides a quick means to gather information, navigate debris with a portable and useful technology that doesn’t drown out cries for help, and that can be deployed by teams that are working a specific area. Equipped with high definition cameras and radars, Drones can give rescuers access to a higher field of view without the need for wasting resources on manned helicopters.
These are just some of the amazing uses for Drone Technology, and the more advanced this technology becomes more and more will be possible in the future. The Possibilities are endless.
Thank You.
Thanks to @rozsaszinpinty for the idea for this post.
Lol, they've been used to show oligarch villas taken for corrupt money and cameras felt comfortable on board!
lol
When i was living in hawaii, lots of people were using drones for fishing. They were able to fish from the shore, but drop the line beyond the break. It was pretty cool to watch how these guys rigged them up.
There are so many uses, This post barely scratches the surface of what is possible.
Wow.....thats some exquisite uses of drones....Soon in the modern era...all of us will be relying on drones...
Keep up the great content...Upvoted
Thanks for the upvote. and I will try my best.
The best part about having a pizza delivered by a drone is not having to tip the delivery man! Cheers!
Right ! lol You take the Pizza, and the Drone just hovers there ...... waiting...... lol
lmao... Ok, then I reach into my pocket and give to a squirt of WD30... Keep the change!
lol
Jejj! Exactly how I imagined your post, actually even better! Well done @madscientistx13 ! Thanks a lot - oh and also resteeming one of my post :) Sweet!
Next one is coming up!
But maybe someone else has also a wish for a post about drones. Or questions?
Thank you

awsome picture
And how do you think, can I make a drone at home?
I would refer you here, http://beginnerflyer.com/build-a-drone/ however it would probably be cheaper, and more practical to grab an off the shelf drone as they are great quality today, look into DJI, and YUNEEC Drones.
It depends what you want to do with it. If you just want to cruise around and take photos, then yes - go for RTF (ready to fly) models; such as Phantom and Mavic. However if you want to learn how to build one, I would suggest taking mini-quadcopter route - in the process you're gonna learn alot, this huge guide covers the whole process: http://dronenodes.com/how-to-build-a-drone/. When you build LOS (line of sight model) you can add additional equipment for FPV flying, and that's where the real fun starts! :)

Great ideas mad. You can check infographic we recently made on drone applications: http://dronenodes.com/commercial-drone-applications/. Different uses of multirotors are really growing in various sectors.
