Last Thursday I had another fantastic day in the mountains around the Höllental Valley in Lower Austria. This time I didn't fly from the bottom up but the other way around: I hiked up the cliffs and flew down and to the other side of the valley:
Video:
On the way back I had to cross a steep via ferrata at end of the valley. I must admit I don't remember being so scared as I was in this particular passage! It was almost vertical and water was coming down everywhere making the descent very slippery and dangerous (I didn't have any lanyard
and carabiners to secure myself). Then after I made it save down I decided to fly up with my drone to see the via ferrata from a bird's eye:

Here are some more shots from that hike:

Deine Fotos sind ein Wahnsinn! Wo stehst bitte da am Abgrund?! 😰
Im Grossen Höllental! Musst mal mitkommen und es Dir ansehen!
Ja, komme mal mit! :) Ob ich es rauf schaffe, das ist was anderes! :D
Friend gric your photos are too beautiful, what beautiful landscapes there are in your country. I love that other facet of you and it's the love of nature, I enjoy it a lot when I'm in contact with nature, because you come back aufgeladen and very creative. I had not seen this post because I had some problems with the internet connection, but I will always be aware of what you post. Because I know they will always be very enriching. Until next time friend.
Thanks a lot for your kind words @benavides54!
You are a risky pilot, and I love it!
I am started to get interested on FPV Drons and I started watching some videos about that. All this is because of you.
Now, reading your setup I see is more complicated than what people explain in beginners video tutorials. What a complicated hobby.
Do you have any recommendation for me? ;)
Cheers.
It depends on what you want to do. If you want to make nice aerial videos easily you can go with the DJI Mavic Air. If you want to fly the real deal then you need a race quad like the Vortex Mojo with the Fatshark Goggles.
Yeah, I was thinking about a race one. And learn to fly in acro mode.
I love the way you fly.
That rickety ladder looks like one of the descents to one of the beaches on Christmas Island before they finally replaced it with a flight of stairs (which are still terrifyingly steep but at least safer than a rickety ladder and some rope especially when you're hauling beach gear) XD
Man you were game making the climb with the water flowing like that :O I would have cowardly noped out.
I usually show my youngest your drone flights, he's a budding drone pilot and it's been good for him to see what kind of stuff you can do with the camera drones (he's been learning with an el cheapo one that handles surprisingly well) and also to see that even expert pilots still bounce their drones on landing sometimes, he's been unhappy with his bouncy landings :)
I love how you edit the videos as well :)
Thank you @ryivhnn!
very nice place and very nice day
Thanks @momoriso!
This place is amazing! My legs have bad memories of climbing steps all the way up a mountain in China, so they're tired just looking at those stairs... But it looks totally worth the climb!
I guess I'd love to climb these steps on that mountain in China! :-)
You probably would! We took an 11km route up the mountain in Zhangjiajie National Park, and it was steps nearly the whole way. Exhausting, but the views were something special.
That's definitely a place I'd love to visit!
Wow, very nice video, looks like a great adventure!
Beautiful landscape!
All the best!
Yes it was! Thank you!
