When living in Texas friends used to love coming to my house for margaritas and my family

has spread the recipe all around.

It seems that the margarita graze has roots in Dallas as restaurant owner,

Mariano Martinez, was getting so many requests for his margaritas that

he needed a way to make them faster and with greater consistency.

He happened to see a self-serve ice cream machine in another establishment and

decided to buy one and modify it to fit his margarita making needs.

Since the 1930s people have enjoyed margaritas but it became harder

and harder for bartenders to keep up with demand during busy times.

Our favorite Texas margarita recipe:

6 oz. tequila

12 oz. beer (any kind but we like the lighter beers for this)

1 small can frozen lime juice concentrate

Ice cubes

Blend

Dip rim of glass into lime juice and coat with margarita salt

Garnish with lime round.
