I think when I first started, day one or two I saw that I had 1 cent on one of my blogs. Then the next day it was gone, like someone or something decided that the column was horrible or the information wasn't even worth a penny.
If there was anything worth mentioning that I did this week, I got a chance to act in a short film in Burbank. Last Sunday, I showed up at a bar off San Fernando and played a character and did a few scenes. What was really exciting was a few weeks earlier I talked to one of my friends about doing something on film. And the following week, we wrote a 5-6 page short. Then another actress submitted it to SAG to make it SAG eligible. Which led up to performing on Sunday. I did not get paid, however; if the short makes over a certain amount, I could make money on it.
In the meantime, I'll still write something for Steemit.
Haha, yeah I think I've almost made .20 cents so far, and most of that was from 1 comment I made on a post :P. Still enjoying this site a lot though :).
You've got my vote for not getting discouraged! You never know what will end up taking off and being popular. Stick with it :)
This made me laugh, and I know exactly how you feel. Congrats on the acting gig, and here's to future and monetized success. Cheers!
It might help to add some pics to your posts to help them stand out. Even clip art or some stock photos that are related to the theme of your post are quite helpful. @kaylinart is a particularly prolific blogger here, check out how her style/substance attracts traffic.
thank you all for replying. A few weeks ago I posted a free copyright type picture on here, but for some reason or another it wouldn't display, so I red flagged the whole posting.
For pics like that, it might be easier to just copy/paste the link from the original hosting site, and maybe put a "courtesy of" caption on the pic. My understanding is that using the URL effectively credits the original source.
I know how you feel, I had a post have 2cents then it went to zero. lol. weird. I think the site might be getting overcrowded now. so you have to have a huge following to get notice, also you need to make sure you comment as much as possible to gain new followers. I think those are the keys to success as well as posting quality content.
Try posting valuable material.
