I didn't know baby oil could be a great blender for color pencils. When I saw this on the internet, of course I have to try it out.
So first I sketched out a character here.
But first I'm gonna do the hair. So I darken the lines of the hair with a unipin.
I started with this part. I used a red brown and red for the hair.
Then I used a que tip with a bit of baby oil and gently smudge the colors to blend it.
I think it blended well but it's kinda hard to control
I just did the same for the rest of the hair. I used red for the base color of the hair and red brown for the darker parts.
Then I blended it all
Look how it was blended. I think I got a great result here
Then darken the eyes using a Unipin as well
Coloring the skin. I used a light beige for the 1st layer of the shadowed areas.
Then I added the second layer of light brown to darken it.
I used two colors for the rest of the skin. I blended beige and a lighter beige.
Again I will use the babyoil to blend all of the colors
I used the same color for the eyes as well
I used a white gel pen to clean up the mess. XD
I colored his shirt black and I also used the same method here
So here it is. I think you can make it easier to color your drawing using this method. Just don't used a thin paper to avoid it to bleed out. I think it would be great if you would use a smooth paper and wax based colored pencils.
