Hi everyone:

This is a drawing of space I made for my coworker. I didn’t use any references for this drawing (for the first time) and I just began coloring with copic markers instead of beginning with a pencil drawing (also for the first time). It was definitely different for me and I was a bit nervous with messing up, especially when I first started because it didn’t look like anything, but it definitely turned out better than I had thought.

Materials used:
Copic markers
Prisma color pencils
Transotype Bleedproof Marker Pad
White gel pen

Here is the coloring process:

After taking these pictures, I realized that I may have taken too few to depict the different steps it took to draw this picture. Before I started creating the stars in this picture, I colored the picture with prisma color pencils and began splattering the page with the copic colorless blender. Since copic markers are alcohol based markers, they can blend easily as well as smear other colors easily, which is why it looks like this picture was rained on. After that, I used a white gel pen to create the starry look.

I like the way you show step by step how its going your work. Your drawing is really great.

Thanks! Sometimes I get too wrapped up in drawing that I forget to take pictures or I lose track of time. I’ve stayed up until 1am drawing and didn’t realize how late it was 😒. I have to set a timer

With a timer you can take a pic per hour, or something like that haha

Actually that’s a good idea. I would have to take pictures more often though. I think this took me 3-4 hours to draw

That could be 3 or 4 pics. You know, you may do it how you feel better

Ah, timers are great helpers.

I like the second image best in the process! Nice work.
