Our hero goes left to investigate the beeping noise. He comes upon the first and only door at ground level he's seen so far. A shadowy figure inside turns off an old fashioned CRT television, darts outside and climbs a ladder, which then retracts up out of reach along vertical rails on the wall.
You try to catch him but are too slow. All that remains is what appears to be an Atari 2600 games console hooked up to the television which is connected by wall fastened cables to the ladder retraction mechanism. It's not clear how the two are connected and may be a trap...but it may also be a way forward.
What would you have our hero do next?

As an attention sign is on the outside of the cabin, maybe they want to deviate him, maybe its the way out and they want to look like it as a trap.

Do they have Space Invaders or good old combat? Maybe the way forward is for our character to show he is worthy and beat the atari games! Also it is never a bad time to play some games So I say hit that console!
Firstly eject the DVD that's inside the console if it is inside to check if it's safe. Take an object and throw it other way, hide, and wait for the shadowy figure to check it out. Attack from an ambush and deal with fears like a man! He's a damn hero, isn't he?

He should definitely keep trying to interact. He goes inside the room and starts playing the games until one of the figures come. I’m 💯 % certain they will be curious about him and they will eventually find out that he is friendly. I think he is making a progress now. It’s do or die at this point.

Our hero must investigate this room and why this room is special because it has a door. It sounds shady. If that beep sound came from the CRT TV where the atari is connected then the shadowy figure is playing the console. Well if the Atari console works then he can play for a while while figuring out what his next move is. Or will our hero device a plan to entrap this shadowy figure when the latter comes back.
All right, the shadowy figure seems to be a nerd. That's good, so we can really impress him with our smartphone. Did we actually land in the past?
Now that we know that the beeping does not come directly from an obvious bomb, I would want to go right to the smell before our hero does anything. :D
