This play is about a poor couple who lived together with little survival, the Landlord comes to collect his rent one day while the poor man was out the Landlord meets the wife and tells the wife that she should remind her husband about his money, the poor man returns hoping the wife makes him food, out of anger there is a serious quarrel between them, an Angel appears and ask the couple to stop quarreling but make just one request each the poor man made a request that the only orange tree in his compound grips anyone that tries to pluck it, the Angel grant his request, the Angel asks the wife and she request that her husband dies, the angel grants her request and leaves the couple started quarreling because the wife wishes her husband dead, the poor man leaves for farming again. The next day the Landlord visits again demanding for his rent, seeing that there is no one at home he decides to keep himself busy by plucking orange from the orange tree, as he makes attempt to pluck one orange the poor man arrives and sees the Landlord up on his orange tree, surprisingly he looks at the tree to see the person up the tree and confirms that it is his Landlord, he shouted 'grip am' and the Landlord gets stuck on the tree. The Landlord screams, and the poor man asks him what he was doing on his orange tree the Landlord explains that he was bored and so decides to pluck one orange to keep himself busy. The poor man asked him if he did not know that it was wrong to probe into one's privacy. The Landlord starts begging but the poor man won't listen, then finally decides to listen, the poor man then gives condition to let the Landlord go at first the Landlord insisted then later decides to give in. The Poor Man is now the owner of the The landlord's property. Just then the Devil Comes in, The poor man and his wife are curious of the Devil's presence, they ask to know his intention, the devil says he is death and has come to take the poor man with him. The wife is very happy, just then the poor man starts crying the devil curious demands to know the poor man tells him that he is going to miss his orange tree, and suggest if the devil can help him pluck just one for him before he leaves for death, the devil agrees as the devil makes attempt to pluck orange from the orange tree, the poor farmer screams again, 'grip am' the devil gets stuck on the tree. He begs the the poor man and the the poor man gives him condition that the devil will agree to go to hell alone instead of going with him after a while devil agrees and the poor releases him to go the devil out of fear leaves the compound and the The poor man is free from troubles there the poor man is happy to have this power to control people.
