Efosa Ekhoe-omoragbon is a 300level Dental student of the University of Benin who is doggedly passionate about increasing access to oral health care services and education in Nigerian communities and the world at large; thus combating poor knowledge of oral hygiene and improving the oral health status of individuals.
He is a prospective web designer currently under the tutelage of the Andela Learning Community 2.0, powered by google. This would enable him sharpen his skills on HTML coding and programming.
He has distinguished himself both academically and in rendering humanitarian services. He is a good communicator and an impeccable team player. He is a tireless volunteer and valuable leader, who has demonstrated great sensitivity to organisational needs, advocacy as well as creativity in solving problems. He has great interest in female advocacy and has spent over 4 years advocating for the sexual and reproductive health rights of females in his community and university environs. To this effect, he has volunteered to be a member of the One Voice Initiative for Women and Children Emancipation (OVIWCE); a non-governmental organization aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women and children. He was also a key facilitator of a campaign aimed at promoting gender equality and protection of female rights which held on March 8th 2016 to mark the International Women's Day. He is currently working on the establishment of his non-profitable organization "Reproductive Health and Women Education Right Advocacy" (REHWERA).
He has a obtained several certificates on leadership, Peace-keeping, policy making, writing and communications, public health, etc from the YALI Network and other professional bodies. The knowledge gotten from these professionals have been applied to create sustainable change and development in the society. He recently received an award of excellence by the "University of Benin Community of Dental Health Education" and the National Association of Dental Student.
Aside his passion and goals , Efosa is greatly involved in extracurricular activities. He has demonstrated great skill in playing football, table tennis, chess and handball, several medals have also been won during friendly matches with neighbouring universities. He is also a music lover and a skillful in playing the bass guitar. He is currently the leading bassist in Church of God mission, Egor branch, liberation Center.
Upon completion of his university degree, he would love to specialise in community dentistry. This would give him the ample opportunity of rendering free oral health care services and education to residents of rural communities thereby creating awareness on issues that surrounds oral health and improving their oral health status.
