I don't know that I actually can say definitively since I've only worked with Proof of Stake. I think if you're early into Proof of Work, it can be a good thing, but it seems like the ability to earn diminishes greatly with more miners and over time. I suppose the same could be said of Proof of Stake, depending on how it's accomplished, but I don't have to fork out money for mining equipment or electricity with Proof of Stake.
Proof of Wrok (PoW) usually requires a powerful hardware, which I currently don't have.
Proof of Stake (PoS) is good, anyone can use (and profit from) it.
