We lost our little Kermit on 1/31/2018. He passed peacefully in my arms that morning at the vets. His little heart just couldn't keep working anymore. I adopted Kermit so long ago. He was found wandering during Hurricane Charlie and taken to a pound. No one came for him. He sat there for months in medical isolation because they believed he was a pekingese with a skin condition. Then he entered rescue where he stayed another 8 months. When I adopted him, no one understood why. Everyone said he was so ugly. If he was, I never could see it. I fell in love with him the very first time I saw his picture on Petfinder. To me he was beautiful, inside and out, but on Facebook I rarely posted pics of him, because no one paid him any attention. I'd feel bad when the girls got 100's of thumbs up and Kermit got none to one. He was just a wonderful little guy, full of love. We believe he was likely at least 16 years old when we had to let him go. Kermit had been in congestive heart failure since December of 2016. On January 30th, he had no interest in eating or drinking and only laid there, except when he had to go to the bathroom. He was so weak. I called the vet, who couldn't euthanize or even see him until the next day. My little Brussels Griffon, Khaleesi, would not let the other animals near him in his final hours. We kept him as comfortable as possible, let him know he was loved and took him the next morning to help him pass on. It was the hardest decision I have ever made, but there was no recovering - only prolonging the dying process and that wasn't fair to him. We brought him home and let the other dogs and the cat see him, so they understood he was gone. This picture was him a few months prior to his death. While he is gone, he will never be forgotten.

So sorry for your loss. He was a very sweet looking little fellow.
