A unique biomedical cell product will be used to treat ulcers and burns

Nizhny Novgorod scientists have developed a unique biomedical cell product that can improve the treatment of burns and diabetic ulcers, as well as restore large areas of skin damage during surgical operations. This is reported in the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy.

According to the information provided, scientists have developed an original composite based on components of blood plasma and collagen, which allow to form the so-called scaffolds - skin equivalents. Scaffold is a carrier into which multipotent stem cells are placed

"All other available world analogues are either inefficient or very expensive," the report said.

At present, scientists have already switched to pre-clinical studies on animals. According to the doctors, pilot experiments in rats showed a reduction in inflammation and acceleration of the wound healing process.
