I really do not know much guitar, though I started to self-teach me and I can sing along with it and strum and play simple things... to sing along is fine :) not proficient but enough to "layer" the sound in some songs. But I'm encouraged to give it a new step forward, just want to get better to layer it here and there in the recordings. If you join the dlive I'd feel ashamed to play guitar, hahah! :)
Haha. That's great! Then open tuning will be brilliant for you. Check out Richie Havens or Joni Mitchell's live recordings somewhere / you'll see that they play in open tuning and do amazing things with very few chords :)
