@roundbeargames, you bring up some interesting points and thanks for mentioning dporn. It really comes down to sharing a chain and having apps sit on that chain. People don't understand decentralization. In time they will. Curation used to be automatic, but now done manually. Good post.

as blockchains are meant to be censorship resistant it should be open to porn, and everything else.
it also means nothing's stopping someone from uploading childporn (unless the police is physically there). i'm sure you're curating and won't allow anything illegal, but there could be someone else with another website that allows it. i don't support childporn obviously, but i don't believe in regulations either. i just don't know where this is gonna go. it'll be fascinating to see where the blockchains lead us.

my problem with Dtube is that my videos are just not showing and sometimes even new videos are not working. so it is kinda not "fair" from them to ask to post only on Dtube. If your post only there and you are not curated (posted over 40 videos on dtube, overe 50% were originaly on dtube, got dtube vote 2 or 3 times), they can't guarantee that videos will stay up, and that videos will work, how can they ask that you post only on dtube? would be great if there was an option to get some tabs on steemit, to show only dtube on one tab, only dlive on other, steepshot on third...
yes. nobody should tell anyone where to post what. the conversation should be about quality, not behavior outside the platform. i'm not too much into dtube because i don't believe in manual curation.
i also don't find their ui appealing. i hate to admit 'pretty looks' for a webpage matter to me (same for dlive).
what's awesome is that anybody can create another version of dtube that interacts with the steem blockchain. except steem doesn't have enough attention to attract the large number of developers.. yet..
i just don't like it when individuals are manually selecting what they like. i'm sure dtube guys are cool. but i just don't believe in systems where you're putting trust in human beings to do the right thing.

total anarchy maybe. i'd actually prefer chaos over manual curation. but that's just me 😃
maybe a few set of rules enforced by code to prevent cheating. but i'd say, the further you stay away from regulations and limitations the better.
As long it is posted on the same day I have no problem if someone is making a Steemit post linked to a dlive and dtube and you might as well add the audio version in dsounds.
My experience so far is that dlive is easier to watch without buffering.
The video would be even better if the cat jumped in.
If I was making a video like this my kids would be making cat noises.
yes i've noticed that dlive is much faster in uploading and playing. if steem somehow manages to go mainstream there'll be more competition. other versions will come up. we just don't see it happening yet. personally i'd love to see dsound go big. sometimes audio content can be more engaging because you don't have the distractions that visuals give you.

Bingo. You'd think that dtube would've figured that out by now since they started earlier as a dapp. Still buffers, stutters...super annoying.
yea i dunno how dlive is handling the videos but dtube is using ipfs which is decentralized but can be horribly slow. i'm sure it'll get better within some years 😃

i'm not sure if i understand the question. but porn is part of entertainment. freedom means somewhere at some place there's always someone who's offended. it doesn't mean things should be regulated by governments. blockchains should be completely free, from anything 😃

The curious thing about double posting on dtube and DLive is, that both use ipfs as backend for storing the data (in the case of DLive not directly, but after the stream is done). Since ipfs is content addressed it will be only "stored" once (meaning that it will create only one unique hash that is used for addressing this content) in the system.
Since ipfs is peer-to-peer, like BitTorrent, the more popular a file is, the more copies of it exist in the network. So if you upload it to both, you have better chances of your video being available for a longer time (even though I can't say how much more, since it depends on how long both services decide to pin the uploaded videos).
