Some degree light touch regulation of cryptos is definitely needed as there are too many scam artists operating in the space and investors / consumers need to be protected. This will encourage innovation and larger companies and investors to get involved and thereby facilitate mass adoption. The challenge though is how do do you regulate a decentralised ecosystem. Maybe we should think about self regulation, agree some rules for best practise and use smart contracts to enforce them.
With all the cheaters must be regulated, otherwise it will be more! Self-regulation would be.

There's really no consensus on whether a crypto is a security or a commodity or a property. Crypto is a loophole for all of this. Which is real reason why you should be long on crypto in general.
