People don't seem to realize that there is no actual EOS "network" that the ERC-20 tokens can be redeemed on. They're just releasing the code and there will be multiple networks/blockchains you can then hopefully redeem some sort of other token on. It won't be "EOS" though.

This mechanism acts complementary to EOS storage, as all token holders will pay for the storage of files on the EOS network through a portion of annual inflation. As long as they are storing a file on the network, their EOS tokens will be held up, and will lose value at the rate of inflation.

What is your price for entry?
I loaded up on it when it was under 5$, I think it's still at a good price under 10$. I believe it will eventually overtake eth. For more info check out Chris Coney - he's been schilling it for some time! I know Micheal is checking it out too as he is always upvoting his posts.

A developer simply needs to hold EOS coins, instead of spending them, to be eligible to use network resources and to build and run dApps. A token holder who is not running any apps can also allocate or rent his bandwidth to other participants who may need it.

The fact that prices have falling so much means that miners need to find ways to become more efficient in order to ensure profitability. This not there first prelaunch as they have on delivering alpha and beta testing to the community and mostly ahead of schedule which demonstrates the discipline and focus the team has delivering its platform. I agree that prices tend to buy in our the rumor but be careful because they sell off on the news. However, the economy of the tokens outstanding will materially change come June 1 as the current token are move into the new blockchain and converted. Supply available to purchase may come down as investors buy to hold how it performs.

That’s why the issue of sidechains is hyped by many of these platforms as the solution to the problem of scalability. EOS takes this a notch higher and solves this problem more efficiently with a context free actions system. Through this system, transactions do not depend on the main blockchain, allowing for parallel validation. This allows for almost infinite transactions through EOS, something that many other smart contracts platforms available today have been unable to handle.

I think that the increase in price was more due to the eosDAC airdrop snapshot around 2 days ago. Now the price of EOS is correcting a bit :)
