Of course, few talk about the energy consumption of the banking system.  Or of Visa and Mastercard.  Or the fact that many miners are in China, one of the leading solar countries in the world.  

BTC might use a ton of energy, but it is not alone.  How much energy does Wall Street and the associated offices throughout the world use.
