Charlie Strong has not had much success as a head football coach. His first chance was at Texas where he did not attain the success the Longhorns expect.
The most recent school to take a shot was the South Florida Bulls. Strong was there for three years before being let go.
In spite of his head coaching failures, Strong is still regarded as a strong defensive mind. For this reason, reports are that he is joining Nick Saban's staff as a defensive coordinator.
Saban has a way of reviving the career of coaches who met failure elsewhere.
