DIYHub is a curation initiative aiming to support creators who love crafting, making things from scratch, home & gardening. We have many passionate and talented creators who love sharing their projects and works with us.
This new series is all about these awesome creators. We will have them sharing with us their experiences in their journey, how they started to get involve with what they are doing now, what are the challenges they face and how they overcome those challenges. And maybe share some tips so we can learn together.
If you have any questions you would like to ask our creators, you are also welcome to drop us a comment here at this post or in our Discord.
How to get featured in one of our upcoming interviews?
- Post your creations in the DIYHUB community on HIVE!
- Drop us a comment here at this post or you can join our Discord and get in touch with us there. You can recommend yourself or your friends.
1. Please introduce yourself with a few sentences.
My name is Adeleye Abdulqudus with the username @abdul-qudus on hive. I am an Agriculturist, a writer and I love the beauty of nature.
2. Please explain what your craft means to you.
I can’t say I am talented in one aspect but I am a fast learner especially when it comes to practical skills. So with this I could easily get things done after few glance. Crafting to me is all about innovation and how much you can think outside the box. So I believe we are all talented in one way or the other.
3. What or who inspire you to start crafting?
Nobody inspired, but I can say the DIYhub community gave the inspiration. I remembered the first contest I attended in the community. It was fun and since then I got more interested in crafting. The community has also been an avenue to showcase my skills.
4. Have you ever thought of giving up crafting?
No. Why do I have to give up on crafting? I am thinking of getting better each day and getting additional skills to make me more creative and productive.
5. In which communities do you post and why (except DIYHub)?
I post in the hive learners community and this is because the community have been trying so much for newbies and making them feel at home on hive. I also post in the inkwell nonfiction, and this is because I love writing nonfictional write ups. I also use the emotion and feelings community, it gives me the ability to put out my feeling and feel motivated when I read from other authors.
6. What kind of other content do you enjoy the most on Hive and why?
Apart from the Do-It-Yourself, I love creative writing, non fictions, and a little of financial write ups.
7. Please name three users who inspired you during your journey in Hive.
First I will appreciate my brother @mcyusuf for bringing me to hive. I also appreciate @dreemsteem my captain, my mentor and motivator. Lastly, I would appreciate @princessbusayo I call her the iron lady and some call her secret guardian on hive.
8. What is your advise to others who would want to start their crafting journey?
My advice is to never give up on their skills and talents. Consistency matters a lot and with time everything will work perfectly fine.
