Questions that involve "short" and "build" usually turn into real time-eating bombs. Not necessarily because of the work, it can be due to all sorts of things that make quick things long.
For one, my preference for materials that have been used before or have become considered obsolete costs me the most extra time.
Fragen, die „kurz“ und „bauen“ beinhalten, entwickeln sich meistens zu wahren Zeitbomben. Nicht unbedingt wegen der Arbeit, es kann an allen möglichen Dingen liegen, die au s kurz lang machen.
Zu einem meine Vorliebe für Materialien, die schon einmal verwendet oder als ausgedient betrachtet geworden sind, kostet mich die meiste extra Zeit.
I often wonder if it's even worth it to find, collect and elaborately prepare the materials. It would all be much easier, faster and more uniform if I just buy new like everyone.
Ich frage mich oft, ob es sich überhaupt lohnt, die Materialien zu finden, sammeln und aufwendig herzurichten. Es würde alles viel einfacher, schneller und einheitlicher sein, wenn ich wie jeder einfach neu kaufen würde.
But then I see the high-quality materials that are thrown away during demolition work, only to be replaced by lower-quality materials or even plastic. Most builders can't imagine that an old plank floor can find a new application.
To go to the trouble of un-nailing the boards and laboriously sanding off the thick layer of wax. An exciting event for me every time, exposing the picturesque pattern of the grain.
When I stand in the hardware store and see the monotony and boredom of the boards/wood, I appreciate every time that the effort is worth it.

When you get to do what you enjoy, it's always worth it.
Aber dann sehe ich die hochwertigen Materialien, die bei Abrissarbeiten weggeworfen werden, um sie anschließend durch qualitativ minderwertigere Materialien oder sogar Plastik zu ersetzen. Die meisten Bauherren können es sich nicht vorstellen, dass ein alter Dielenfußboden eine neue Anwendung finden kann.
Sich Mühe zu machen, die Bretter zu entnageln und aufwendig die dicke Wachsschicht abzuschleifen. Für mich jedes Mal ein aufregendes Ereignis, das malerische Muster der Maserung freizulegen.
Wenn ich im Baumarkt stehe und die Eintönigkeit und Langeweile der Bretter/Hölzer sehe, weiß ich es jedes Mal wieder zu schätzen, dass sich der Aufwand lohnt.
Hier einmal links eine Douglasie aus einer alten Wirtschaft/Tanzparkett wahrscheinlich im 18. Jahrhundert gewachsen 1905 wurde die Wirtschaft fertiggestellt.
Rechts die Douglasie aus dem Baumarkt. (Für mich, die drei schönsten Bretter die ich im Baumarkt gefunden habe.)

Back to the topic @schlees chicken coop,
while others are doing a puzzle on Sundays for coffee, I'm puzzling over the mechanics of the hanging sliding door for the chicken coop. Beautiful Sunday work silently cut brushwood, casually clean up and prepare cozy.

während andere sonntags zum Kaffee ein Puzzle machen, Puzzle ich an der Mechanik der Hängeschiebetür für den Hühnerstall. Schöne Sonntagsarbeit lautlos Gestrüpp schneiden, zwanglos aufräumen und gemütlich vorbereiten.
If it gets better al so I am happy, Let's see what becomes of it.
Wenn es besser al so wird bin ich glücklich, mal sehen was daraus wird.
Na das hat doch Potential, wird bestimmt ein lebenswerter Hühnerstall.
