Most items I find sell in 1-14 days of the date I put them up for sale. Many sell within 1-3 days because they're hard to find discontinued items that are in high demand.
The turnover is mainly a function of my price point. I could sell anything within whatever time frame if I wanted. I don't do auctions, so I set a price target and adjust the price slightly as I monitor the view and watch counts. Some random things may take 6 months, with outliers being more, but it's because it's super uncommon and potentially priced high on purpose.
I try to take things that aren't too big and that I know will turn over relatively well. I don't want to have a big backlog of valuable large slow-selling things because I have to be space efficient. I do get stuck with larger things for a while, but my direction is going in more of the smaller items for shipping ease and lower costs.
Cool 😎 do you use one type of posting service or different kinds depending on how fast the customer wants it ? Do you have to go to a post office or do they pick up the packages ?
I strategically live 2.5 blocks from a United States Post Office and half a block from a FedEx pickup point. The main FedEx office is also an 8 minute walk from me. I'm bouncing around to those locations once or twice a day Monday-Saturday. It's as easy as it can be.
I use USPS for most, but use FedEx whenever it's cheaper for larger items. FedEx seems to have better rates for larger packages going to farther destinations.
