CUPCAKE DECORATING PARTY

CUPCAKE DECORATING PARTY

I've always wanted my kid to get involve into the crafts I am into to make her appreciate beauty of passion turned into an art. Ever since I had Shen (my first born), I always make sure she has her spot in the kitchen to make her feel she has a part in all my CAKE PROJECTs.Planting seeds in her heart to love what her Mom loves to do in the kitchen. At the age turning 4, Shen is loving to play with clay doughs, turning it into food miniatures, little cupcakes with decorations on it and do pretend plays on cakeshops and cashiering. So on her 4rth, I decided to do a little cupcake party for her with her few classmates in the prep sundayschool with a rainbow motiff.

The challenge is to simply rainbow decorate a borrowed 15 sq.meter kinder classroom (thanks to Teacher Rose)- without compromising the existing stuffs inside

CONCEPT

The whole concept of this party was to have the kids individually decorate a BIG Iced cupcake providing them an edible decorations to top on. Coloring cupcake sheets were also provided as their preliminary appreciation on cupcake decorating art, then the actual decorating. A DIY paper aprons were also provided and disposable kitchen headcaps.

On DIY Paper APRONS

Why buy when u can make one.

For the Paper Apron, I bought about 15 Manila Paper/Pattern Papers.Fold the paper into half, then draw a pattern that of an apron, cut and make a design ( if you are patient with it 😃 ).

On KIDs Table

STICK to your motiff- if its a rainbow then choose bright colors on your plates, paper cups and the choices of your decos - it will add plush to your set up when photographed.

CAKE and Dessert Table

You do not not need an expensive print outs to make your sweet station looks nice. As I have mentioned in my last post on this series of MBK, Crepe papers are one of my DIY crafts bestfriends. In this set up, I had the rainbow colors of crepe papers as my background.

You do not need to be an expert baker or a professional event stylist to create an 'INSTAGRAMABLE' look set up- the secret is to choose the right colors and be creative. In here we had a naked rainbow cake with a giant number 4 candle as the main topper and a commercial cupcake (like those of lemonsquare and monde products)-whipped and decorated. (Thank you Tito Wilson for patiently baking the towering colored cakes and Tita Micah for the letter cut outs😘)

BUY candies and cookies that fits the motiff and theme.

The FELLOWSHIP

In creating a simple event like this, always make sure that celebrant is enjoying as well as the participants.Do not spend so much on expensive decorations that you will only use it once. We DIY because we want to make it personalized with a touch of elegance and secondly we want to excercise financial stewardship

KIDS' SIMPLE Happiness is every MoM's Great Joy.
