DIY - Our Budget Irrigation System for Our Tiny House - Big Island of Hawaii

We finally put together our irrigation system for our Tiny House. We made this bed out of Lava Rocks and the dirt we scraped off the Lava around the house. We have been conditioning the dirty with the food scraps for the last couple months as we think it is good because every time we come to the house the weeds grow like crazy in it.

We are using the DIY Micro Automatic Drip Irrigation Kit which was about $32 from Amazon and is the same one we use on the lanai of our condo. It was worked well and been very reliable. We mounted it with Velcro to the frame of the trailer under the house and plugged it in to an outlet under the house which we made to provide power to the far side of the house, using a USB adapter. We ran the drip hoses to the bed and worked backward to the pump to get the right length. We will put the hose in a conduit if this all works well. We drilled a hole in the gray water tank and fed the supply hose to it. Once we turned it on and set the time it worked perfectly. We planted some Cherry Tomato seeds and we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Our biggest worry is that there will be enough water in the gray water tank. We are going to have to monitor this and think about how we are going to capture more water.
