A dress I sewed for my colleague

in #diylast year (edited)

Hey everyone, hope you are having a fantastic evening.
So, for our term's graduation party at school, the staff members were asked to sew a specific Ankara, which we all purchased. I stitched for myself and a few coworkers, however I would only be writing about and uploading images of one.
You can imagine how stressful it can be to get home and start paddling the machine after the stress at work, but despite having to multitask, I was still able to deliver, and Of course, it was our exam period, so I had to invigilate, mark scripts, and record.the assessment at school . Now, it is all over and we are on vacation, I am relieved from the stress and pressure .
I definitely met my colleague's need for something straightforward. So I used three yards of Ankara, two yards of lining, and a half yard of cut lace to create a simple dress for her.
Pictures you would see her are taken by me with my phone.

I started by sewing the skirt portion of the dress, which I cut in a skirt form and neatly turned with a lining so that I wouldn't have to weave it. This makes my work look incredibly professional. I also included a small design below. Below are images of the completed skirts.

I then moved on to the upper half of the dress, turning it neatly with my lining and using the lace there as well. Once the front and back of the half-cut were properly attached shoulder to shoulder, I contoured it using her measurements.

When I was finished, I joined the uphill and downward sections.

After that, I added the desired hand to the dress to fit it perfectly. I was pleased that I had completed this task in just two evenings after work, and the amazing thing is that the dress fit her perfectly and without any mistakes, which made me feel incredibly happy and fulfilled.
