RE: Was he or wasn't he?

in #discussion7 years ago

Every time there is a tragedy with a gun we immediately cut into a god damn gun debate. It’s disrespectful to those whom lost loved ones. I would venture to guess they are probably more pissed at the psychopath who pulled the trigger.
I will leave your readers with this fact:
The lifetime risk of dying in a mass shooting is around 1 in 110,154 — about the same chance of dying from a dog attack or legal execution

Sort:

what's the chance of being struck by lightning in florida?

Well hell, I had to look it up. Better odds of getting struck by lightning in your lifetime 1/3000 than being killed in a mass shooting. :)

the action that need to be taken is CLEAR!
Ban lightning..
(think of the children...)
If only ONE life can be saved.
it will be worth it.

Since 2008 ( I think - average annual deaths of children in schools - 16 per year)

since 2015 - over 2,000 car deaths - per year - of kids 16-18 driving.
and over 100,000 serious injuries.

Cars are Killers!
Or possibly the gas stations are to blame.

you're an order of magnitude off
20 to 30K deaths every year (just in the USA) from cars.
1/4 million maimed.
500K deaths attributed to psychiatric drugs...

you were saying?

20 to 30K deaths every year (just in the USA) from cars.

...over 2,000 car deaths - per year - of kids 16-18 years old driving.

just 16-18 yrs old's - school kids - that was the comparison i was making..
