So, my neighbor Susan(name changed) came over the other day to talk to my wife and I regarding her husband. Our neighbor Jim, has been going through some internal struggles with his body and he doesn't feel male or female, but rather he believes he is a wolf. You can imagine the problems this is causing for Susan and her kids. Their whole lives Jim has been a loving father and husband and one day things started to change. . .
Our conversation with Susan went something like this:
Rawdawg: What the fuck do you mean Jim thinks he is wolf?
Susan: Well, he says that he associates his body and mind with a wolf and no longer feels like a man but rather a wolf or maybe a dog.
Rawdawg: You mean like Kevin Costner from Dancing with Wolves?
Susan: No, he thinks he is an actual wolf. He has grown out his beard, is walking on all fours, and when me and the kids were away by my mother's house, he went and had surgery done on his teeth to give them wolf like features. He has been eating raw steak and pissing and shitting outdoors as well.
Rawdawg: Holy fuck Susan! He needs a doctor.
Susan: Yea, I know. It starting to scare me. .
Rawdawg: Yea, me too. If I see his ass howling at the moon or running around in my yard, I may have to call the police or animal control.
Susan: I understand. The funny thing is, he says he feels depressed because he is getting strange looks from the guys at the Firehouse and wonders why they are not accepting his natural wolf feelings. I tried to explain to him that they know him as Jim the "man", not Jim the wolf, but it just doesn't sink in with him. He is even growing his back hair out and using hair growing hormones to increase the body hair all over his body because he says it feels right.
Rawdawg: I don't know what to tell you Susan. I'm sorry you are going through this. Hopefully he can get some help.

After having this conversation with Susan, it got me thinking. . .
Is there any difference between my neighbor Jim wanting to be a wolf and a man who wants to cut his dick off, have surgery that replaces his dick with a vagina and be a woman? I'm seriously wondering to myself what the difference is, if any. If you believe in evolution then human beings evolved from animals so it may only feel natural for some to let their animal instinct out. Right?
Rawdawg is totally for people doing whatever they want to their bodies as that is their choice, but a man wanting to be a woman or woman wanting to be a man is something I will never understand. I do understand that people who have surgery done on their body to change it because they feel like it needs to be something else are definitely serious in their convictions!
Should Jim's co-workers be required to accept him as a wolf just like they are required to be sensitive to transgender equality? Is this the next step, in the process for human rights? Acceptance for those that want to change their bodies to be more like the animal they most closely associate with?
Is the reason for a high suicide rate among transgender human beings because they are not accepted by society or is it because they didn't receive the necessary treatment to determine their sanity?
Gender fairness will be causing all kinds of issues for the Olympics. How should we treat a man who becomes a woman and then wants to compete in the Olympics? We have to be sensitive to this, so women who have been training for the Olympics their whole lives should not be complaining when Bob who becomes Bridgette wants to race in the 50 yard dash and wins 3 gold medals. Right?
I'm not being ignorant or sarcastic when I ponder these things. I truly am curious if there needs to be more research done regarding the health of people who have these issues. And yes, I call them "issues" because I can't understand it. If that is not politically correct enough for you then suck a lemon.
Is the next step in our level of acceptance and human rights, Brian from Family Guy?
Can I have Jim, my neighbor, as a pet and walk him on a leash? And anyone who thinks that is weird should be labeled and shunned from society.

You make a good point. What is the difference between Jim's struggle and a transgender person. I admit to not understanding it and if I'm honest, my first reaction was to associate it with a mental health issue, rather than one of identity. I thought I was a tolerant, live and let live sort of person, but you stopped me in my tracks and made me think. I guess, for the sake of his family, the only question I would ask is, 'has he always felt this way, or has it just come on recently?'. Since transgender people have, for the most part, always known they were born in the wrong body, I feel that it could be a good litmus test, although I'm by no means an expert.

I don't really care what anyone wants to be until they are not hurting others.
In my opinion people can be what they want to be....They can control themselves and decide what they want to do to their bodies, but they can't control others. So the society decides who they want to Accept or not?! Its not just about a person changing gender or wanting to be a wolf a lot of normal people are not accepted on there as well...
We all struggle to fit in a little, it just depends how "different" we want to be from normality.
If more people would come out and accept their choices maybe, just maybe we'll all see a world one day when you can talk around being a wolf and no one would mind! 😊

What happens to jim's wife and family.. How does sussan explain to her kids that their father is a wolf now. Why didn't he think of this before getting married and starting a family.
