Aboriginal Digital Drawing Yanomami Venezuela
Hello my dear Steemians, in this opportunity I bring you my last illustration, this is the face of an aboriginal child belonging to the Yanomami ethnic group, located between Venezuela and Brazil, with a population of 30,000 are the most numerous isolated ethnic group in South America, 70% is in Venezuelan territory and the other 30% is in Brazil, reside in the rainforest.
The theme that I have chosen, is for my taste to everything concerning the aboriginal cultures of the region, authenticity, a lifestyle attached to nature, very different from the lifestyle of the West. Their crafts, their gastronomy, their struggle to rescue the Amazon jungle, is what has motivated me for years to develop an artistic style that identifies me with the region. Thus, the consumers of this art will be able to appreciate the beauty of South America cleanly in different ways.
In the step by step you can see that I make a sketch to guide me a little, usually I do not use a sketch, but this time I saw some aboriginal portraits which inspired me, the piece was made in two steps, I divided the face in half and began to define features such as eyes, mouth, and details of the face. Then I reflected that half to compose the face completely and continued with the hair that was perhaps the most difficult part of the illustration.
In the course of the artistic work I was defining which combination of colors and accessories to leave or to put, to cite an example: in the sketch appears an ethnic makeup that I decided not to put it because it would recharge the image, and at the same time I added two feathers of parrot, ornamental characteristic in the aborigines Yanomamis.
I hope you liked my presentation. Thank you for appreciating.

thanks <3 <3 <3
you are very welcome:D
I like your interest in aboriginal cultures. It's good to spread the awareness and hope that those cultures won't eventually disappear.
I love your drawing! The symmetry is something what I really like to see :) It's a good decision not to paint the make - up. I think it would be too much. I like the color combination and the feathers that are behind his ears.
Thank you for sharing!
practically disappeared thanks to the Spanish empire. 160 million aborigines and only 3 million remain after 400 years of colonization, I see this type of work and other similar more as a documentary of what was one of the most advanced cultures that have ever existed.
thank you for appreciating <3
Thank you for sharing your digital art, it is nice that you described what you are doing and to find out about this small ethnic group in Brazil. Seeing your process of work, it is easy to understand how you created the portrait and looking at that simple sketch and the final result that are two different world. It is helpful tool to have a sketch so that you keep all necessary details and their proportion. Like the colors you have chosen and that makes an impression of that colored white paste that they usually cover their faces.
Hello @stef1 thank you for appreciating the art. 70% are in Venezuela and the other part in Brazil. although Brazil does have more aboriginal ethnicities in its territory.
