Blessings, colleagues! I bring you my new drawing. Today's is based on the R275 Slide Whistle chart. This is a curious flute, one of a kind. I honestly don't know of any similar model. This flute is known as a piston flute, and you'll see why in a moment. You know, even if you think you've never heard of it, the truth is we've been hearing it since we were children. It's one of the most used instruments in cartoons to simulate the effect of falling and rising.

For example, its sound is heavily used in cartoons like Tom and Jerry, and several Donald Duck cartoons. Of course, it's also used a lot in music, but it's not as common. It's most often used in film soundtracks, especially comedies and animated films, because its sound is more like a farce. To give you an idea, I'll leave you with a video where the flute is tested. You'll immediately remember the sound from the cartoons.

You see, it's just like I told you. The flute is called a piston flute because it doesn't have holes like other flutes to control the notes. Everything is done with the piston inside. You can pull it out and push it back in to create the notes. It's really fun to watch and listen to. Okay, so let's move on to the drawing now. I started by drawing the card's border.

After painting the card's frame, I drew the body and main outline of the flute. It has an elongated rectangular shape. Following that, I drew the small handle that controls the valve; this is what makes it extend or retract.

In the details section, I added various borders and lines to the drawing. Each one serves a different purpose, but generally, it's to give it more volume and prevent it from looking too flat. They also fulfill the aesthetic objective, which is the main goal for it to look exactly like the original card.

The next step, friends, was to paint the newly finished sketch. I used a color palette very similar to that of the original card. On the flute, I used various shades of gray to simulate the metal and the shine on its back. Watch step by step how I painted everything; it's the most fun part to see.

And to conclude, friends, here's the finished drawing. See you in the next one. Blessings to you all.
