I have heard people that reverse type 2 by resetting their system with a 7 day water fasting and with a whole food vegan diet. This means eating whole fruits and other starches but as a whole food diet. There are people saying that fats are the leading cause of type 2 diabetes and other saying that is the carbs.

Yes it is rather paradoxical.

But basically there are 3 main groups

  1. Very low calorie diet (Dr Roy Taylor's research)
  2. Low carb high fats, ketogenic approach (Virta Health, Diet Doctor etc)
  3. Vegan, starch based diet (Dr Macdougall, Dr Greger, Dr Neal Barnard etc)

Choose one the one that you can sustain...
