Important update

As the @worldmappin team will take over @pinmapple I have lowered the daily amount of this proposal to 15 HBD day for the upkeep of Buymeberries & Hiverrr solely.

Short intro

The previous proposal has been successfully completed with all services still available as outlined in the prior proposal which can be found here. This new proposal is an extension of the previous one, with two major changes. The hours spend on maintenance / improvements will go up to 10 hours per month at 75 HBD / hour worked and the upkeep for the Haveyoubeenhere mobile app will be stopped.

What is the proposal for?

This DHF proposal aims to support the maintenance and occasional improvement of multiple projects. The proposal will cover these expenses for the entirety of 2024.

What projects does this proposal cover?

This proposal encompasses all upkeep & maintenance costs for the following projects, all projects are entirely open-sourced.:

• Pinmapple: A map where travel bloggers on Hive can pin their posts. It's currently utilized by nearly all travel bloggers on Hive.
• Buymeberries: A platform offering Hive and HBD tipping functionality through embeddable widgets (can be used on websites, inside blog posts, etc.) inspired by buymeacoffee.com.
• Hiverrr: A mobile Hive wallet available on Android (built in Flutter, so it could also come to iOS).

Below you can find the current metrics for Pinmapple, which is the project that bears the majority of the cost in this proposal.

Costs break down

AWS costs (last 6 months)

The AWS costs for the previous six months are depicted above. An upgrade to our RDS was necessary as the MySQL tier previously used on AWS could no longer handle the volume of requests to and from @pinmapple. Not all these costs are associated with Hive-centric projects; approximately 1050 USD per month (incl. a 150 USD buffer) covers the costs for all the projects mentioned. This also includes smaller costs like domain names, hosting fees, etc. not shown in the graph. The biggest cost is the pinmapple infrastructure.

Final proposal
