Today's Scripture
He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in.. (Proverbs 7:8-9)
Thoughts for Today
Have you ever been in a situation where you know you shouldn't be here or you shouldn't be doing something but yet you find yourself walking down that road instead. Probably when you find yourself surrounded by a group of people who like to talk bad or gossip about others behind their back, you also trying not to but somehow when you mix with them, you end up talking bad about others.
Have you ever been in such a situation where you feel like you know you shouldn't be going here but yet you still can't help but go there. Maybe you may feel anxious about what others think about you if you decide to stand up for what you believe. Maybe you feel pressured to conform to their ways.
We need the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the challenges with face in our fleshly nature. With our own strength, it will not be possible because we are naturally tempted.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
We can overcome the world through Christ. Through Christ, we are more than a conqueror.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for your strength. Holy Spirit lead us and guide us as we walk faithfully unto you, help us to overcome the challenges we face in this world, and help us to be a light shining for you. We ask this in Your Precious Name, Jesus. Amen!
