Summary
- Time and again, people point to a supposed failure of markets to justify corrective policy interventions. This ignores the fact that government failures are much more significant and problematic. This LI paper presents twelve different state failures neglected by social engineers as illustrations.
- For example, representatives of the state presume to have knowledge that they cannot have. To successfully carry out an intervention, the state would have to draw on information that the free market produces in the first place. Market knowledge is not centralized, systematically organized and general, but distributed, heterogeneous, specific and individual.
- Politics also suffers from long delays between diagnosis and effect. Politics is a power game. The politician's antenna is tuned to the signals that are relevant to this struggle for power. Only when an issue is sufficiently politicized will it get the attention of politicians.
- The value of a single vote in a mass democracy is so small that the rational voter will not spend much time and effort investigating whether the big promises of the politicians standing for election are realistic and do not clash with his other desires. Therefore, political campaigns do not aim to inform and educate, but to disinform and confuse. It is not the soundness of the program that is important, but the enthusiasm that a candidate can generate among his supporters and how well he can put down, denounce and humiliate his opponents. As a result, election campaigns provoke hatred, polarization, and retaliatory lusts.

friend, I hope you are well, greetings from Venezuela, thanks for your vote and your writings are very good, I consider you a cultured and critical person, I congratulate you, sometimes I don't publish the worst internet and I have no phone, I lost it and it's difficult to buy, They lent me a computer but for photos it is difficult but here I go, a hug and take care
Actually this writer is telling the truth. Many government agencies do not share knowledge from top to bottom. Sometimes when one officer is absent he does not even have the knowledge to perform the duties of an officer who does not come to the other officer.
Many politicians are joining a power struggle today. They are not thinking about voters. it's just about the politicians.
Democracy being so futile?
Being reminded of the fence we have in our minds, I often feel we are compared to cattle. Farmers provide health care etc. Fiscal politics. It's like laying eggs or exchanging your valuable time for money. All in the name of inefficient central planing?
The violent and coercive force applied by by authoritarian conduct and their implications as well as questionable measures are often ignored because they become the prevalent custom.
Being only familiar with the current system only very few question these dogmatic impositions. Why? If we are conditioned as citizens to abide to such rules and they deem the contrary chaos, then no one would question or even consider that there might be alternatives. Scientifically at least, there were philosophers and economists that did after the second world war. Just no one would listen to them.
You are right. "Politics is the last refuge of the scoundrel. " -George Bernard Shaw’s
The hierarchy of following orders and officers seems to be a measure of control. the combination of media injects fear of misconduct into the system. It exerts control. For the peaceful side of humanity it feel more like someone is holding a branch restricting the tree to reach light by itself.
Dear @zuerich , I agree with you!
I know that I, as a small trader of the market, hardly have an effect. I also know there are many reasons and factors that make the markets move. I just try to buy low and sell high when I see it, I gave up on trying to even predict what will happen..
🙂
Here now with covid Dutchies loose faith and interest in the government
And to some extend I relate

Can't wait to have a conversation with you on oligarchy, statism, totalitarian dictatorship, their differences etc. I really liked your article about "Has communism ever been tried? Evaluation of political ideologies" .
Hope you will show up to one of our event. I think you could blend in. There are several other workshops and things happening at the openlab today.
I truly am asking myself why we still need government? It could be all done via the blockchain. Everyone with his own unique code can or rather must participate in questions that can be national, local, or group. And the single voting system could solve this out. We would only need a group of representatives who would maintain the blockchain and keep it safe from hackers etc.
