I've been thinking for a long time about writing this report. But it has been important to me for a while now.
Since some weeks the commenting and thus the commitment has decreased extremely. Whether this has to do with the introduction of Resource Credits and the associated limitation of new accounts or with the introduction of SteemMonster, I do not know. But I think it's a pity that the blockchain's interaction has dropped dramatically since then.
You can find posts with a $ value over 50 but not a single comment. That's really sad. I usually get quite good upvotes on my posts but rarely more than 10 comments.
On the other hand, there is a lively exchange on the most diverse Discord servers. Why not leave a little time for a comment.
It does not matter if you use Steemit, Steempeak or SteamPlus, it is a small matter to give short feedback to a post. This helps the author to orientate himself and, if necessary, to improve the quality of his posts.
So dear community teach me a better and start to comment again.

Hingegen findet auf den unterschiedlichsten Discord Servern ein reger Austausch statt. Warum sollte dann auch nicht ein wenig Zeit für einen Kommentar übrig sein.
Egal ob man Steemit, Steempeak oder SteamPlus benutzt, es ist es doch eine Kleinigkeit einem User ein kurzes Feedback zu seinem Post zu geben. Das hilft ihm sich zu orientieren und auch gegebenfalls die Qualität seiner Posts zu verbessern.
Also liebe Community belehrt mich eines Besseren und fangt wieder an zu Kommentieren.
It was really crazy back then, when the price was really high. I hope things turns back around. Engagement is still the key to get more comments and being a part of #powerhousecreatives helps a lot. Getting comments is really a big deal as it makes you feel that you exist in this platform. I have seen a lot of new accounts with great content but quits after awhile. It's really hard to get attention but nothing is really easy in life.

I actually had a antipasto in regards of how everything is done more on discord then on the steemverse
I do however find it easier to drop a comment on a post I read as a form of reaching out to the author

Well I agree but like this post has 18,45 revenue so That must be a comforting thought that the blog is appreciated, I would love to have such a result. Ich finde deinen Artikel sehr gut. Leider bin ich ein neuer User und habe mir wirklich überlegt, zu antworten. Mein RC Mana zeigt 23,3% vor diesem Kommentar.
Ich muss wir sehr gut überlegen, ob ich etwas Neues posten oder andere Posts kommentieren möchte. Die Möglichkeiten sind sehr eingeschränkt. Morgen werde ich wohl nur ein paar Votes abgeben, für mehr reicht es kaum.
Ich verstehe dieses RC Mana allerdings nicht. Es ist doch allen gedient, wenn wir kommentieren und posten können. Warum dreht man neuen Usern so den Hahn ab?
So eine Plattform lebt von Kommentaren und ich hoffe sehr, dass es damit wieder bergauf gehen wird.
Genau das ist das Problem für neue User. Die D-A-CH Community könnte dabei mit einer Delegation helfen das Problem zu beheben. Unter dem Hashtag #delegationsbewerbung auf dem Discord kannst du dich vorstellen und man wird dir bestimmt helfen.

Some People left Steemit, when the price dropped. Spending 4 hours a day was well worth commenting when steem was worth $4-$6, but now that it is less than a dollar, some steemians need to spend their time in other ways simply to eat!
We forget that for some parts of the world, a daily payout on steemit was enough for food and life.

I completely agree! Some people create exceptional content and still they get very few if any comments. If I were them, I would be disappointed after a while. This needs to change!

it’s beyond frustrating. but i think it’s tied to the price of steem. if it was 3 bucks i think we’d see a lot more engagement.

Yes, but if some new users have to handle the RC, it's not easy for them.
steem ninja is a fantastic option. they get 15 sp with each new account to help them with rc.

I agree. I'd like to see more comments. But I also have to admit to being part of the problem. I don't comment enough. I keep telling myself I want to comment more, and I will for a few days, but then I start to slack again. I really don't know why either. Because I do enjoy it. Commenting is lots of fun and it's a great way to make new Steem friends!
Yes, same to me sometimes. But when I give a vote I try to write a small comment and it's getting more and more usual for me.
In the past week it seems to be even more quiet! I don't know if everyone is scared that Steem is just going to disappear so they have already jumped ship. I know I would love to spend more time commenting, but as the list of amazing people I follow grows I have a harder time hitting everyone within a reasonable time.
I think auto-voting is an issue, too. I have a few communities I support with following the curation trail, but I have noticed it makes me less likely to comment sometimes when I am not manually curating those same posts. That's where I have really enjoyed being in the powerhousecreatives group--it has forced me to be better about commenting and engaging! :)

Totally 100% agree! Leaving comments will give writers and viewers more like a two way communication. We should not be discouraged based on the value of Steem.

I really love what you said there. That's true, I think after they introduced the resource credits, comments have dropped. I used to comment a lot before but I'm kinda restricted right now because of the recharge. Anyway thanks for sharing your opinion. I hope it will get to most of the people using this platform. I also see that the commenting has decreased a bit. There are people to keep being active on a daily basis but many Steemians just make posts and don't work on engagement with the community.
I think there are more reasons to it. It could be general demotivation because of the price decreases, resource credit so that the new accounts can't engage as much as they would like to or less time to spend online (my case).
I believe that if the price would go up there would be definitely more engagement..

I agree, even if my vote power is negligible (as usual) I try to leave a comment on a post that I enjoyed. You have point. It nice to see a trail of comments back and forth on a post. There are so many curation trails now that just give the vote but no one reads the post. I think that is sad as well.

I have found that the engagement on my posts and the number of comments have gone up lately, really up and I think that is because there are fewer and fewer people around so the rest of us have fewer posts to comment on. I think the same will happen to you soon, wait and see.
Good point @zen-art. Hopefully, fewer people can lead to more comments. I wish it for all of us who try to put more value to the blockchain.
