RB Leipzig leaves Hertha no chance

RB Leipzig has brilliantly exploited the mood boycott at Hertha BSC and catapulted thanks to Timo Werner in the top group of the Bundesliga. In offensively non-powerful capitals defeated Saxons in the top match won 3-0 (1-0). National striker Werner scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season with a brace (7th / 53rd) and his Bundesliga debut for his strike partner Matheus Cunha (75).

With 19 points, the fifth victory of the season means third place for RB until Sunday. Meanwhile, Hertha conceded the second defeat of the season and is first to find eighth place. The past four league games Berlin could not win all. Although it was enough for a home win against Bayern Munich (2: 0) and in the previous week to the memorable 2: 2 at front runner Borussia Dortmund, the Berlin now have to hire first back.

The self-imposed atmospheric lull of the East Berlin curve took exactly five minutes after kick-off. Then followed the first cheers of around 50,000 visitors. After less than a minute Hertha goalkeeper Rune Jarstein had to scratch a shot by national striker Timo Werner from the line before he met six minutes later.

Berlin's outside player Maximilian Mittelstädt had checked Jarstein's head before Werner poked the ball over the line. Hertha striker Salomon Kalou (9th) missed a goal from Valentino Lazaro on the right just three minutes later. Both teams were not sure in this phase in the defensive network. It reminded of the past home games of the Berlin against Leipzig (1: 4, 2: 6), as it went partly wild.
