Indian tea package design illustration. I loved the concept from the beginning and wanted to try something new here. Initial task was to design a character for package with simple background. Main hero should represent Indian Raja and bring feelings of rich taste.

It was an order from Uzbekistan branding agency with pretty clear references and nicely formed brief.

Sketching was a pleasure. I like Indian culture and way people feeling happiness having such a small things or even nothing. I've been in India many times and saw a lot of contentment in the eyes of poor people. This is really something we should learn. We have so much to be grateful for and at the same time keeping complaining more poisoning our mind.

My sketches had been printed for a test showing part of the turban should be added to cover more package area. Also our guy looked too young and slim. He had to eat more so everybody can feel he was rich.

Agency sent me an unfolding view and I've made some necessary corrections and created a tea themed pattern.

Sketch was approved and I've colored it. This time I leaved the sketch layer multiplied on top decided to keep it till the final. I wanted to add more natural drawing feeling in this portrait.

Second print just to check the things out. Everything looked fine and approved fast without lots of corrections.

I love this. It's warm, inviting, and just makes you want to smile.
He almost reminds me of a to-be character from the movie Coraline, but still has a unique flare.

Certainly looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Thank you very much!

Wonderful, you are so talented ! :-)

Thank you, Agnes!

Really cool work, I especially like the warm tones you used and the composition with the turban is great!

Thank you, Flo! It's nice to hear from an artist like you!

nice photos i like

This is actually not photos :)

indeed your work is always good to be given appreciation 👍

Thank you so much! I appreciate it!

Hmmmm..I have said It before..talents are deposited in india..starting from their tea, to their art ..I went to india sometimes in 2013.it was great.their turban freaks me out..even their clothings..always different.

Yes, I also inspired by these hats. It looks really amazing!

Very colorful rich man .He looks more realistic compare to most of you characters. I stopped drinking any caffeinated teas these days, my heart can't take it any more.

Oh, that's really good news! Caffeinated teas you mean all the black and green teas? It's good that you've stopped them. Good for your body and mental state as well!

But I like them :( Replacing them with chocolate now :) Kids keeping me on my toes all day instead of caffeine .

I am chocolateholic from the childhood! From 1st of January this year I quit :P because I am itching even! Now eating a little bit of honey in the morning...

Keep in mined that honey is acidic food and do not over do it . I feed my kids a lot with yougurt with honey ( I added honey myself). Few month after I started doing it my son developed acidic reflux.

I am trying to eat 2-3 small spoons a day not more :) you know a lot of things for the healthcare. Are you into yoga?

No, I am not into the yoga yet but I do have little kids and I cook all food for them myself ( fruits vegi eggs meat + a lot of plain yogurt ):)

This is great man! I love the details that go into the headpiece and everything.

Thank you very much, Mister! :)

This is wonderful! You can really see the content in the eyes of the man. And the caricature is spot on. Love the tiny triangles in the turban and how you've coloured it as well! So many details in this drawing that I keep discovering every time I look at it :)

Where in India have you been? :)

Thank you, Manouche! I had been in Goa, Varkala, Thiruvanantapuram, Madurai, Madras, Balngalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pondicherry...

So many southern coastal places! Hit me up next time you visit :)
