10.6/100000 people thsr die annually pass away due to depression induced suicide. Usually suicide due to depression doesn't alarm anyone unless they've been hit close by it or when their favorite celebrity passes away. First off, calling them selfish is ignorant and beyond frustrating. You think they want to leave their loved ones? No, they were in pain and their government left them for dead. Depression treatments are trady and they're expensive, Because the medical industry is a monopoly. You can thank your congress. Depression deteriorates the individual mentally and physically. It drains them. It drains the ones they love as well. It's like having a huge monster inside you, dark sinister one. You all know the movie get out, right? The sunken place. You're sunk. You're trapped, and no one can hear your agony. You wonder why so many are homeless? Most is due to mental illness as well, but with medicine so expensive, how are they to afford or let alone afford transportation and a roof over their heads? Instead of critiquing, try and understand. Go talk to someone that's suffering from depression, go help someone that's homeless. A little bit of gratitude and care will safe someone's life. I assure you it will, and they'll thank you with their priceless gratitude. Everyone thinks the sunken place is funny until the ones they love or they are in the situation. Food for thought.
