The U.S. Government has a very long history of supporting coup d'etat's against government's that do not follow the power's of the NATO Government's Economic world order. One of the greatest travesties this century was turning the country of Libya into hell on Earth to depose Mummar
Qaddafi, complete with the full hammer of god as in full NATO military support of the Libyan rebels trying to over throw the government of Libya. The reason for the NATO sponsored rebellion against Qaddafi would be him publicly dropping the U.S. Dollar for oil trades, and creating a new Pan-African currency. It would seem most U.S. sponsored Coups are almost exclusively for violating the Maxim's of the Economic Hitmen. ( Please watch the following video of John Perkins discussing his book,"Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" further information)

Gaddafi gold-for-oil, dollar-doom plans behind Libya 'mission'?
This year in 2019 the U.S. Government has been busy trying to over throw the government of Venezuela complete with Twitter slams by Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and John Bolton. A not so publicized Coup this year supported by the U.S. Government is currently happening in Libya. Surprisingly this Coup is against a Libyan Government supported by the U.N. and NATO members. The figure of this coup is Khalifa Haftar who has spent a large amount of time living in the U.S. only to go back to Libya to help in the overthrow of Qaddafi in 2011. Interestingly enough there is WikiLeak residue from 2011 that further supports the idea that Khalifa Haftar is currently attacking Tripoli, and most likely doing so with the U.S. Government's blessing, and was most likely the American choice for Libyan leadership all the way back to 2011.
It must be said that what was never explained to the general public was how complex Libya's society was during Qaddafi's rule with 30 tribes, each with their own leadership. Qaddafi almost accomplished the impossible by unifying 30 tribes under one Government peacefully. That is not condoning Qaddafi's rule, just stating the reality of Libyan Society. Once Qaddafi's rule ended you not only had 30 tribes vying for power, You had Deep State Wars with the United States, France and England all trying to gain control of Libya's new leadership and control of Libya's resources.
WikiLeak's gives us insight into the truth at hand. Where the new interim government of Libya was concerned about losing control of the Countries oil reserve's and resources to the West. A remark made by Mohammed Yousef el-Magariaf, (Libya's interim President from August 2012 until his resignation in May 2013) in Hillary Clinton's WikiLeak's files says as much,
"Magariaf stated privately that this relationship marks a departure from the Qaddafi years
when Libya's natural resources fell under the control of foreign firms and governments. Jalil added that
Magariaf will welcome investment and cooperation from American and Western European banks and
corporations, but believes Libya, supported by the new governments rising out of the Arab Spring, must maintain control over all aspects of the industries involved in exploiting its natural resources"

The next WikiLeak's email from Hillary Clinton gives insight into the fact that NATO countries the United States, France and England were all trying to take control of Libya after the fall of Qaddafi and that there was no secret the U.S. had their own man on the inside, Khalifa Haftar.
The French external intelligence service (DGSE) did not seem happy with Pro-U.S. Haftar.
UNCLASSIFIED U.S. Department of State Case No. F-2014-20439 Doc No. C05781532 Date: 12/31/2015
At the same time, these individuals state that DGSE officers continue to maintain a close relationship with rebel
commander, General Abdul Fattah Younus, encouraging himto support French and British diplomatic and economic
plans for post —Qaddafi Libya. These foreign officers, in the opinion of knowledgeable sources, work against the efforts
of General (formerly Colonel) Khalifa Haftar to establish himself in the rebel army. The DGSE believes that Haftar, who
lived in the United States for twenty years, is too close to American interests.

I present one more WikiLeak's that discusses Khalifa Haftar as being pro U.S. Government to the point of losing trust from other Libyans.
- According to a knowledgeable individual, in late December 2011e1-Kieb resisted efforts by
General Khalifa Belqasim Haftar to establish himself as the Chief of Staff of the National Army.
Haftar, who lived in the United States for many years and is believed by Belhaj and others to have a
relationship with the U.S. Government, is using his popularity among the officer corps of the regular
NTC army to support his claim to be Chief of Staff. This produced heated protests from militia
leaders and in late December 20liel-Keib named deputy Minister of Defense Colonel Yussef al-
Mangoush, to be Chief of Staff. In the opinion of one source, this is a problematic choice, since el-
Keit) is replacing the supposedly pro-American Haftar with al-Mangoush who commanded one of
Qaddafi's elite Special Forces units, even after the revolution began. This individual believes that el-
Keib's decision was driven by personal animosity toward Haftar, and the influence of Minister of
Defense Osama al-Juwali. The situation is far from resolved, as Haftar and his supporters,
particularly in the Benghazi garrison, continue to claim that the General is the true Chief of Staff. El-
Keib and al-Juwali are working to reconcile all of the elements in this conflict as quickly as possible,
Younus, in turn, points out that Haftar has been living in the suburbs of Washington DC, while others struggled
against Qaddafi.

I would have to say not only is the United States Government busy trying to over throw the government of Venezuela in 2019, they are trying to puthave put Libya back into American hands through their proxy Khalifa Haftar. What makes this coup so bold is the U.S. Government is having it's operative overthrow a Government that the United Nations and it's allies in Europe have all recognized. This kinda feels like this move by Khalifa Haftar has "art of the deal" written all over it... 2019 will be another busy year for the CIA and the U.S. Government.

Quite an interesting read. There's so little mention of Lybia in the news these days and the mainstream media stories I saw in my local press painted this general more like a Russian asset. Thanks for clarifying that.
The hardest thing I do is literally writing a deep dive sifting through WikiLeak's for anything hopefully original is hard! I was surprised that I found mention of Haftar and he is totally a U.S. plant, even the WikiLeak mentioned Libyans complaining he lived in the U.S. until the war kicked off with Qaddafi, I think the CIA probably played a big role in setting him up for his ongoing attack on Tripoli, it looks like Libya had a lot of infighting with the U.S., France and England all fighting to install their own proxy in power during the overthrow of Qaddafi, I can only imagine that Libya is worth untold billions, plus there is some buzz that Trump is destabilizing Iranian oil production to boost American oil profits and production, which if you look at Libya, Iran, Venezuela and even Iraq and Russia, they are all large oil producer's and all have or had major problems with the U.S. Government. Maybe the new version of democracy is to hammer America's competitors in the oil market to help lock up the United States new hold on being the world's top oil producer by smashing the competition?
Once you mention he's been living in the US for a long time, no need to say more...
And, yes, probably, Libya is worth a lot, even Qaddafi was well received in Europe, despite the bad reputation - business is business after all.
I've been extremely busy with work and have been so exhausted that I got lazy about writing, this was a WikiLeak's Deep Dive I was working on for DeepDives writing contest a few months back and I finally pushed it out! I do Communication Cabling in the Electrical Union and I get worn out constructing sometimes, and this year is one of them, hopefully I will be back on track, and get back to trying to build my blog ever so slowly 😀

This is a great contribution to Deep Dives, @natepower! Really happy to see someone diving deep on Libya as it's been fading from memory and replaced by the latest wars of aggression in the ME.
I'm sure the French were not pleased to find out that Haftar was the US's main man and proxy in Libya and the guy they wanted to install in the aftermath of Qaddafi's assassination. It hasn't quite worked out the way it was suppose to (aka complete disaster) since 2011 but I also remember reading somewhere that Haftar was causing major headaches for the US shortly after he had returned and had set up operations with supported by CIA/US military. Looks as if the plan to install Haftar is back on though. Haftar is not a household name but I have come across his story before while searching the archive, but it's certainly more relevant now that he's making a move to take power.
There are more than one story on Libya, I could write a second story with what I know, More Economic Hitmen stories to tell about the interim government. it was more about Western Government's raping and pillaging Libya Economically and taking a greater advantage of Libya's resources, there were guys who say Qaddafi was too soft on Western Money, the world order killed Qaddafi and he did what they wanted, now for the first time I can remember, the U.S. government Publicly supported Haftars assault on Tripoli, and supported an attack on a government supported by Europe and the UN, the WikiLeak file's give credibility to theories
