International women's day. Yesterday I had the day off from work, so I decided to do some gardening. I planted some new flowers, some tomato plants and chili plants.
The tomato and chili plants are planted in a mini greenhouse.
Outside I planted pansy and daffodils.
I also bought some eucalyptus, just to give our home a good smell and as decor.
I also baked some homemade bread. I usually bake two bread a week. slice it and put it in the freezer so we have fresh bread for the whole week.
So I have some thoughts I want to share with you on the occasion of yesterday's women's day.
It's nice to see so many getting involved, and so many praising women. But that's not what International Women's Day is all about.
It's not about praising women. The day is about highlighting the lack of human rights.
We would not have needed this day if there was no shortage of rights.
We do not need a day to celebrate the appearance of women or the fact that we are women. That we are a sister or a mother, or that it is nice to have us in the world.
We must have this day to mark and fight against the fact that half of the world's population is being treated unfairly and differently than the remaining half.
These are some of the thoughts I have left with after yesterday. It was fun to see so much commitment and lots of pictures of women. I just do not want the real message to fall away
Stay safe!
Have a good tuesday everyone. I am off to work, life as a nurse👩🏼⚕️❤️
