Decentralization is an important topic to me and you will see a lot more about it from me in the future. Recently I have been seeing space mining/farming coming up more and more. It is an amazing thought when combined with the potentials of decentralization, dapps/dac's. But it faces a few problems. Interests, emotions and limitations.
Current incites on harvesting materials from space are promising and only make sense but the chance of all countries in the world agreeing on an international space policy are zero with our current model. According to von der Dunk. “By now in view if the general political climate it is highly unlikely that a treaty carrying the consent of the major spacefaring nations will be achieved” he says. The problem is that we are being stopped by a failed system and this is holding everyone back tremendously. Because of laws and the current structure of our society. "Free" man cannot choose to explore space and bring back what he needs. Space farming they're calling it. Who on this earth could possibly own space? So who on earth should have a say in this matter. It all boils down to economics and fear. Like always. People fear the collapse of prices with the abundance of resources that come from space to earth. Who would fear this? Not poor people obviously. People in positions of power who thrive of scarcity. Because as long as there is little then they're "roles" becomes worth a lot. We have enough resources already that if used properly we would solve all our issues with hunger and homelessness. But our broken model favors a few. A decentralized capitalistic model would truly take care of everyone while pushing innovation. With space farming we take man leaps and bounds ahead in evolution. In a primarily decentralized world we would not have these problems we face now and we would just be able to go and start mining space. Enrich the earth, protect it and then go off further into space and do it all again or something?
If space mining were too happen under the right conditions our options would reach a new high. we could start colonizing space, gain exposure to elements and situations that take our sciences and psyches to new heights. The possibilities are sometimes unimaginable but they are all better then leaving history on repeat wouldn't you agree? I barely got into this topic and it deserves deeper speculation. I will cover it more in the future. We live in a amazing time right now. I have a vision of our planet that is rich and beautiful. But I also understand what it will take for a vision like this to come true. We have the materials we just need the effort. People think I am a dreamer but the potential for an ideal "dream" world is there. We can make the earth into a utopia and expand out into the stars if we wanted too. You just have to want to.

STOPI believe that we have to get rid of many bad habits we have before this transformation happens. we are hooked with overconsumption or consumption of the wrong things which in the end hurt us as a whole.
I agree. I also think with decentralization we can make the changes required to achieve something like this. We need to learn to manage what we already have well among other things before trying anything as adventurous as this.
