Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I have been playing Splinterlands since around March of this year. I have lurked around the discord and a little here on peakd, but had not found the time to start posting myself.
I would like to change that and start to become a bigger part of this amazing community.
Now that the Chaos Legion pre-sale has ended, I am overly hyped for December 8th to get here as soon as possible. I may have only collected 2 packs over the duration of the pre-sale, but the anticipation of opening a pack for the first time in several months has me a little anxious.
Meanwhile, I have been testing the waters with a few passive income methods.
Usually, I sit in a comfy Silver III, working my way, slowly but surely, to Silver II without rentals. This season though, I started with a pretty low ECR carried over from the previous EOS, so I decided to rent out most of my collection power and play in Bronze II.
Sure, the DEC rewards may not be as high, but I can make in a day roughly the same amount of DEC from my active rentals that I would have from playing all day from ranked rewards.
I know that I should only play around 25 or so matches a day to maximize ranked earnings, but that is a very hard thing to do when you love playing the game and have a few spare minutes every now and then.
Thankfully, in Bronze II there are still DEC rewards from ranked (though pretty low compared to Silver III).
The only thing that I feel that I am missing out on are:
- 2 chests daily instead of 1
- Bronze can receive credits in daily chests. (So far though, I have been lucky enough to only pull credits once or twice.)
- End of season rewards
I feel that end of season rewards are what I miss the most from this season, but I usually only get a few commons, potions and a few DEC anyway.
I plan to use the passive income from rentals to purchase a few cards that I will be missing after the starter Beta/Untamed cards are gone.
So far, I purchased two cards that I would like to keep after the Chaos Legion release:
Usually, these cards have been sitting at ~10 USD each, but I decided to pick them up yesterday for $5 and $7 respectively.
What are your thoughts on the release of Chaos Legion?
Are you stacking cards from the market that you would like to keep?
Discuss in the comments and have a great day.
I'm looking forward to buying Chaos Legion packs but also lots of single cards when they go on the market. It's the most cost effective way for getting the most cards and ROI although buying packs gives special airdrop bonuses. It's all abot balancing your spending compared to what you get back. Or what you need to spend to have fun because never lose sight of the fact it is a game 😃
I will also be buying single cards from the market as well after some initial FOMO dies down. I still beat myself up a little for not mass purchasing singles when I first got into the game, thinking $0.70 for a Pyre? Why? I already have him! Now he's well over $10 😂
nice deal! I'm so excited about the release of chaos legion I'm going all-in, in the general sale. I hope I'm gonna free my self from the card rentals, but I'm kind of worry because I have a feeling it will sell out fast!

Hello, @iamtherealjebby! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.
Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). Since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.
For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post.
