I have 59 dead followers and one these is the fiance of my daughter, but I'm pretty sure is still alive (in the real life :D) lol
On a more positive note...they can't unfollow you when they are dead.

The only information it uses is last post? I mean if those guys were just mining, they would be considered dead, but they would actually vote for your posts?
Cool app. Well, I have just over half of my followers who are dead! Most of them are from 7 and 8 months ago.

In my opinion, the difference is due to when you started on steemit. I started only last November, while you have been there much longer.
But, but, but....Stellabelle, you've taken a month off on more than one occasion and here you are. You're not dead, are you? :)
Note that a follower is considered to be dead if they have not posted a blog entry or a comment in the last month, even if they have resteemed other blog entries every day.
I have more dead followers than alive ones, and I figured that even before this app. You and I have been here for a longtime and we know a lot of people dropped out after the payouts dropped.
Well that is somewhat depressing! 393 total, 211 Dead, 182 survivors who 'posted' in the last month.
...I prefer the 'vote' criteria: 393 total, 167 Dead, and 226 alive an posting in the last month.
Ya know what though @stellabelle? I still get votes from some of these so called dead followers from time to time. Some still have a pulse.
Use votes to determine if they are dead. It's a bit more accurate imo because not everyone posts.
I noticed that little option later on. I can confirm what the one who's name is Brian says is true.

I have 404 active of 639, which I consider to be good. I expect you got a lot more 'bot' followers by being a more prominent account. In general it seems my followers are sticking around. We only have about 1% of the Steemit accounts posting anything, so we're really just a small club. There's issues with people signing up lately, so it's not likely to grow much. I hope this can be fixed as we really need more people using Steemit.
