RE: Plastik: Einblick in eine wahre Katastrophe!

in #de-stem4 years ago

Hey @agmoore,

actually the USA were one of the first countries with laws created to reduce microplastic accumulation in nature.

In 2015 the Obama administration passed the "Microbead Free Water Act". This act forbids the use of microplastic in cosmetics, shower gels and comparable products. Unfortunately, researchers found that the plethora of microplastic is not derived from those products and the wastewater cleaning systems efficiently removes them. Therefore, these laws change almost nothing on the situation, but they are at least a beginning. In Europe, no such laws exist!

Best regards

Hi @chapper,
When I spoke of the U.S. being in the grips of industry, I wasn't talking about Obama. Trump is not Obama. The current president is trying really hard to turn the clock back.

Peace and health,

Oh,

that's horrible. The USA has so much potential, they should invest in technologies for new biological polymers and new recycling technologies. Maybe we should write Donald Trump a letter about this.

So much trouble everywhere

2020 is a complete freaky year

Cheer up

Hi Chapper,

Let's hope things change this November. What a freaky year, indeed. We'll enjoy the good ones when they come, even more.
As for being cheerful... that's my natural state. Every now and then I have to deal with reality and then I bounce right back.

Be well, and peaceful.

Regards,
AG
