dCommerce is Seeking Experienced Devs & Social Media Activists

in #dcommerce6 years ago (edited)

People almost always decide on how they feel rather than how they think.

This is the basis of the WIIFM (What's In It For Me) factor that drives buying behavior. The dCommerce platform is stoking the WIFFM by offering a one of a kind Crypto token rewards based, peer to peer, borderless shopping channel that quickly and efficiently matches willing buyers with sellers. Our vision is to advance the evolution of online commerce through integration of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology-based reward incentives. The aim is not to be a simple auction platform, nor just another shopping site; but rather a far more incentivizing experience for both buyers and merchants that reaches well beyond completed transactions.

Stay tuned, as we are about to release a revised White Paper, a unique domain site along with a robust roadmap towards commercial launch and profitability.

Seeking Devs

We are looking to add to our Dev Team headed by @morning. If you have strong node_js and database experience, please contact us on Discord. We offer an engaging, honest, ground up opportunity to help build a one of a kind platform aimed at transforming online commerce's degree of incentivisation feature from good to great. dCommerce is a for-profit venture and so token rewards plus generous cash profit sharing incentives are offered.

Social Media Ambassadors

The dCommerce team understands that transparency and visibility are key ways to have the community, delegators and would-be buyers/merchants stay informed. To that end, we are seeking Social Media Activists or Ambassadors to join the team to actively share, post and discuss our strategy, tactics and progress. Every quality post will be upvoted by @dcommerce account accompanied by competitive token incentives. Please inquire at our Discord

Delegate to @dCommerce

Round A is still in full force! Remember that Round A delegators receive 4 DCC tokens per 1 SP!!

Private Placement: If you would like to purchase DCC tokens as a private OTC placement, please contact us on Discord.

With other social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, users still find ways to advertise and sell their products. dCommerce utilizes the strengths of blockchain technology and Steemit network to develop an e-commerce system like eBay, Amazon and Etsy. I can see a good future with this program.

I have a question about dCommerce's token because I intend to delegate some SP to the program. In theory, can I use dCommerce's token to be sent to @dCommerce in exchange for an upvote?

So, if you buy a $40 item and buyer/seller is each rewarded with 5 crypto tokens and these can be sent to @dCommerce for a 10% upvote or about $2.....it's incentivising to both buyer and seller.

According to the statement above, are the buyer’s/seller’s tokens the same as delegator’s tokens? Thank you

You got it. That's exactly the incentive model's core. The tokens can be sent to @dCommerce for upvotes; or they can be sold/bought on the Bitshares excchange or held as savings.

Ignore the naysayers. You're getting delegations and that means support is incoming, steadily.

Is it valid and how does it work internationally? How would the shipping system be to other countries?

Thanks for the question. The shipping will initially be arranged by the seller. The tracking number submitted as part of transaction verification. Once delivered, escrow will release funds from escrow.

It would be not advised to accept shipping without tracking numbers.

Cost of shipping will be paid by either seller or buyer.

eBay offers the Global Shipping Program for international orders in which seller sends item to their shipping center after which they take care of customs etc. Lot less headache

Will there be something like that on the roadmap or will their be something in place to offset the incentive for sellers that may need to ship out of country?

I use eBay but trying to weigh out my options. Final value fees kind of making my profit margin thin. Thanks!

Posted using Partiko Android

Even eBay had its humble beginnings. Did you know that its first item sold via auction was a broken laser pointer? It had no global shipping program back then.

Yes, dCommerce too will be aiming for such features. Once we can sustain $1Mil to $5 Mil per month in total transactions, more enhanced shipping features will be made available.

Okay and in case of loss or deterioration of the product is there any type of insurance that covers these cases? And the shipping cost is canceled with the purchase or upon receipt?

The assurance of product is secured between buyer and seller. We will use escrow where payment can be held until Product is shipped.

Can we completely eliminate scams or poor products? No, but the reputation score of buyer and seller should be a good guide.

How is this any different from Openbazaar? Why should I use your service over Openbazaar? Can you tell me the main differences? ;p

I appreciate the question! Thanks!

Does Openbazaar reward with crypto coins to both buyer and seller? For dCommerce, the crypto token rewards can be spent for Steem upvotes or sold/bought on the exchange.

So, if you buy a $40 item and buyer/seller is each rewarded with 5 crypto tokens and these can be sent to @dCommerce for a 10% upvote or about $2.....it's incentivising to both buyer and seller.

The tokens can also be sent to your account on the Bitshares Exchange and traded for any other cryptocurrency.

So, what dCommerce is doing is raising the incentive value ceiling. That's what's different while at the same time heavily utilizing Steem/SBD payments along with Paypal and Visa.

Also, unlike Openbazzaar, no need to download ANY software.

Hey Haejin, everyone wants an ecommerce site. You might have the resources to pull it off. For 10k steem a month plus a 20k delegation, I will help you build a real team, teach you how to handle questions and criticism. Act as the community watch dog, while helping you build a relationship with the community. I will attend your meetings and report on and handle the public questions. You may stop paying me at anytime, but I will not sign an NDA and I will tell the community what is really happening.

:)

If you would like to discuss, hit me up on discord.

Wow that's a bargain no matter how you look at it. Only 10k a month for you and 20k delegation?

You better jump on that @haejin.

Well, it's a start-up and Crypto. So, thought I would cut him a break and provide services for Start-up wages.

Don’t forget your assistants, we count too. @steemitqa and myself 😁
You woulda be getting a great package deal big H, plus we would still love to see you and StarJuno in Steem Speak ... hear you on voice ... The Pitch! 🥳

10K Steem/month, thats a fair offer. Maybe dcommerce coin ends up as being a pure and secure Steem/SMT token and a huge sucess, worth more than Steem itself....

I actually thought it is pretty fair. He needs PR and Trust. I think it is a good idea. I think he has sound business thinking and needs help working with the community. Could be a win/win.

I’ll do it for 9000 STEEM per month and 19K in delegation. :)

Oh man... Don't undercut me.

I'll do it!!! .... for 3,000 steem, and 3000 delegation - but I know absolutely nothing about what the job entails...lol

Yeah, you win. I'm not touching it for that.

me neither....

This may be to early of a question to ask,but will dcommerce have a review buyer/seller feature built in upon launch? Like how they do with amazon and eBay etc.

Posted using Partiko iOS

We will, except not in the MVP (minimum viable product) which will be the beta product. But yes, the product review as well as buyer/seller reputation scoring will be featured in the subsequent releases.

To a seller standpoint, let's say the seller came up with a unique item to sell, probably a new invention by the seller - is there a way for the @dcommerce platform to copyright / authenticate the invention so that it will be safe from piracy? Will there be a form of protection for the seller's item so to prevent unauthorized reproduction by someone else?

I think that ecommerce platform built on top of a blockchain will not be governed by other entity / authority. And so there is a high chance that other sellers might replicate an original item and sell it at a low price creating dispute among sellers.

Hi Funtraveller,
Copyright and Trade Marking fall under government regulations so dCommerce or any online retailer would not be in position to provide such protection. The inventor must submit to the gov entities for filing copy right or tm or patent status.

Also, while dCommerce will abide by all copyright laws to best of our abilities, patent and tm infringement actions are wholly owned by the holders of those assets.

Thanks for your clarification dCommerce, I asked this question since I learned that a conventional ecommerce platform like Alibaba are actually stepping-up against piracy. I believe they will even investigate a seller and if proven guilty they will report to police and remove the seller out of their platform.

I also thought that a product authentication could be in a form of "smart contract" built to your system that can be used to legitimize an item - maybe a form of copyright as well?

Cool idea of using smart contract to authenticate products!

dCommerce will abide by all laws in which it operates.

Where can we learn more about this project? And info on the team? Do you have a github repository?

As far as I know, @haejin is one of the team members. Likely the owner of majority shares. Who else is working on this project?

Here's a visual representation of what building something on Steem will look like
with a layer of Haejin over it.

This will be a tough one.... But...

Whenever i have to make any kind of decision, whenever i have to decide on any action, i always ask myself 1 question. And that is the exact question you written down in the very first sentence.

WIIFM (What's In It For Me)

I dont think any action is purely altruistic but those actions that benefit the biggest number of people are preferable in a society like this..

The first problem i see dcommerce facing is @haejin.
The general perception of him is that he acts only in a way that benefits himself personally, in a way that maximizes his own gain and users dislike that. (That being true or not doesnt matter)
That is the general sentiment and im sure that Haejin is aware of that. He might not care, i dont know, but asking for engagement from the community, even support, while that is the case, makes that the first obstacle for him to cross.

But...
Im going to quote myself from a few sentences above:

...but those actions that benefit the biggest number of people are preferable in a society like this..

Dcommerce (and yes, even Dstors) could be seen as projects that will benefit a large number of people making them a positive addition to the blockchain.
Regardless of that, the problem still remains of changing the perception of the community about the person spearheading the project.
That i think is something that Haejin should focus on and over a short period of time could change.

To answer the "WIIFM" (Whats in it for me) question...
It all depends how generous Dcommerce is, how well they deal with PR going forward and how hard Haejin works to change the perception of the community of him.
If supporting Dcommerce didnt have the "Haejin stigma" attached to it, i personally wouldnt have any problem supporting the project as a regular Steemian. Same goes for Dstors and their Kaliju drama or any other project for that matter..

Just a few thoughts...
Keep on Steeming.

I don't know what he expects. He is abusing SP and flagging together with starjuno and ranchorelaxo especially on little guys. They drove off lots of users, new comers and old users. Users which built their reputation building real content not by speculation and trading. They have trouble comprehending that their behavior is also affecting their wallets on a long term.

The thing with stake based systems like this one is that those with the most stake have the most power to do what they want to do.
This translates to: "Those that invested the most, have the most power."

We can agree/disagree with that as much as we want but by deciding to be a part of this platform we essentially signed up for that. Until something is changed, thats the way it is.

Haejin, as far as i know, prior to Dstors has been focused mostly on increasing his stake and not really interacting with the community.
Now that he started this project he will need the support of the community, at least to a degree, for it to succeed.
For that reason i recommended he attempts to change how the community perceives him. He has the SP to do so fairly quickly and easily.
It would be a shame and a loss for the STEEM blockchain if at least one of these two projects dstors/dcommerce doesnt succeed with dstors already shutting down.

he will need the support of the community

That's exactly what I'm trying to say. And it doesn't look like he is aware of it because he and his gang bullied and are bullying people around. That lasts over a year now, you can find tons of gohst accounts with their last posts dedicated to these bullies. So, he stole idea from a guy and he is starting to build this but for whom he is building it? For a ghost town?

Posted using Partiko Android

He is building it for himself. He doesnt care about the community or anyone in it. He will rip everyone off in the end like he always does.

It's a pity and failure of Steem platform that a scammer with money can reach to the trending easily and even suppress the growth of other legit projects. Community, where are you?

Great question. As a former Ebay and Amazon seller, I stopped because it is a scammer paradise now from the buying side. Ebay will almost always take their word, even if what you shipped them weighed 22 lbs and what they whipped back weighed 3.

Paypal can be just as bad despite severing their ties officially with Ebay. If Dcommerce demonstrates they can handle this tug between buyer/seller more fairly than Ebay and bring buyers to the site, I figure their biggest issue will be handling the server load from growth. Many gave up on Ebay (as I did) and many more learn the hard way as evidenced by their seller forums which I still peruse sometimes to see if anything got better.

@practicalthought - I sell on eBay with PayPal constantly and there are 99% positives to the 1% negative you're highlighting. I've sold and shipped thousands & thousands of items/packages (usually 4-8 a day) and have had your scenario happen twice at most ever in 5 years. In those rare cases of a deliberate scammer, either eBay or PayPal made it right after I spoke with the proper people. The last time I had an issue over an eBay policy, I wrote to the CEO, who responded in 20 minutes, and was invited into their office for lunch with the global head of seller engagement who gave me all sorts of perks (after all types of other proactive calls from other staff). The head of seller engagement told me he used my email company-wide and also said they'd be making changes to what impacted me in the upcoming Q2/Q3. Doesn't sound so bad to me...

What you say happens, but it's rare and not something weighty enough in % of transactions to frame them as bad options as a whole.

Congratulations on your great success on Ebay. Unfortunately, that has not been the case for myself or many others. One can see this by visiting their seller forums, where the old timers who still frequent there have the motto, "don't list it unless you can afford to give it away"

You can also see this from many of the older sellers who ran good volume who quit because they found themselves in the same scenario.

I'm unsure what part category may have to do with this, as I have seen that suggested on those boards as well. But the fact is, when a buyer decides they want your item for free, Ebay will usually bend over backwards to ensure they get their wish. Having remained in sales in the real world via live auctions and swap meets over the years since I quit Ebay, I have sold to many regulars who were pickers that still sold on Ebay. So I do know it's possible and happens, but I have little patience for thieves and it takes more balls to steal something when the owner is right in front of you.

Congratulations especially for this. I would say this is even rarer than selling with virtually no scammers, as I have never met nor encountered anyone before now that was a normal seller on Ebay that had access to the CEO, got through and was rewarded with lunch and other unspecified perks. I think you will agree that is not a common response for the head of a large corporation such as Ebay to have with the sellers on their venue, unless we are talking a large corporation such as when ToysRus was briefly there getting their negatives and metrics scrubbed daily so they wouldn't be punished as a normal seller would be.

I have to admit to being excited at the idea of a competitor to Ebay (and Amazon since they have been gating so many categories). Especially one that will allow alternate forms of payment to be able to bypass Paypal. I am not currently in a position to go to auctions, nor do I have a good flea market nearby to funnel items through. But I still have some of the collectibles I shipped when I moved to resell at some point, and will be moving hopefully this summer to an area that does have a good flea market. This venue would be a perfect compliment, and who knows, maybe one that would allow for a decent living.

i sell someone a bar of soap instead of laptop or I buy a laptop and claim I only received bar of soap demanding my money back. How will they build the same kind of trust we have from ebay, craigslist and who knows how many or what local apps exist that charge no fees.

Hi @steemmatt;
dCommerce believes that further incentivising buyers and sellers through crypto token rewards that can be spent for upvotes or bought and sold on exchanges can add significant boost for repeats.

It goes beyond the ebay bucks, usual loyalty points...have you tried selling airmiles? If caught, that airline will destroy the account. dCommerce's reward tokens also hold a convertible option to exchange into the ICO token. At sustainable $1 Mil to $5 Mil total transactions per month, dCommerce will initiate the ICO launch process.

BTW, I hope you consider setting up a storefront on dCommerce!

Thanks for your response. I'm not opposed to anything that helps my business and also grows cryptocurrency utilization. I'm not sure how my operations could adapt to a storefront at the moment. Are there tutorials or is that documentation a few months out as things are being developed?

Hi @steemmatt,

The site will have the lowest learning curve possible....this is because the layout and process of listing and buying will be very similar to other established online platforms.

We have a new, very cool domain name coming out...our Devs are working hard to complete the back end and the UI will be established shortly. Much more to come!

Thank you for your thoughtful inputs.

dCommerce will be as unbiased as possible. EVEN if paypal and Visa rule against dCommerce's decision; we will rely on our reward distribution mechanism to right any "wrongs".

For instance, let's say a seller was "forced" by Visa to take return and resulted in a loss. dCommerce will take steps within discretion to reduce the damages with a larger token allowance. Please bear in mind, that the direction could go the other way for the seller's benefit.

In future features, smart contracts could also be actively utilized as well as multi-sig options as effective de-risking tactics. This is the beauty of blockchain based payment mechanisms.

Good question, @baah and thanks!

For transactions using STEEM/SBD; the built in escrow feature will be utilized. For established merchants, funds will be release upon tracking info availability. For new merchants, funds will be held for 3 days post tracking info availability and then released. For transactions paid via Paypal or Visa, scams can be resourced directly to them for resolution.

For antiscam actions, we will first profile out any users contained in the Global Black list. Second, any IP from known suspicious sources will be blocked.

For outright scams, our function will be to investigate, mediate and block proven scammers.

The buyer/merchant will each also be rated per number of successful transaction and feedback scoring. Known scammers will obviously be at the bottom of such a scale. Sellers can also be able to block out unwanted buyers, but this feature will be a Phase II.

At the end of the day, reputation score will play the biggest role. In fact, the reputation score of buyer and seller will have calculation component in the distribution of reward tokens.

At the end of the day, we are a match maker of willing buyers and sellers. We admit, that all scams won't be detectable nor preventable. So, the scenario you profile can occur. Merchant/Seller reputation scores will have the strongest preventative role.

In other words, if you're buying from a low scoring merchant....the risk is pretty much on you and vice versa for seller. The seller can block out a threshold level of low rep scoring buyers.

Yes, on launch, all will have same starting rep scores. However, the growth process will enable the development of established sellers and reputable buyers.
One of our goals is to populate the marketplace with established Merchants from ebay, Etsy, Shopify as this would mitigate the "risk" perception.

This is great to hear. I actually have a shop on Etsy now. I’ll be using the dcommerce site upon launch to see how the whole experience is. I like that reputation will play a key role because trusted sellers/buyers will rise above shady business dealers.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Great to know and soon, we will be taking early signups for merchants. More to come!

In my mind, this question was coming to the same which you picked up @baah
