Eat. Sleep. Hack. Repeat...? Not in our world. We believe in using movement and tactility as a way of breaking through mental barriers. So when we are stuck with a problem and seem to keep hitting our heads into the same wall we take a calculated break💥I always say that if necessity is the mother of all invention then play is the father. 😅 Funny how fitting yesterday's break ended up being... So to evade the untimely problem wall we encountered, (While working on our solution for the #liquiddapp #blockchain #DappHackathon currently in progress) we went to go support our good friend, fellow maker, thinker and artist @bennheidi1 👀
And guess what? 🌐 Her work deals with connectivity in the modern world! Using telephone poles as a metaphor, her beautifully minimal, elegantly textured & precise yet playful markmaking made me feel strangely floaty/home. She hints at the past's intimate analogue connections with the works' textures & titles, suggesting that tactility and personal communication has somehow sadly become obselete for us now. At the same time the zenlike simplicity of her marks and the new shapes formed with 'old' shapes, re-referenced & re-used througout the different pieces of work, carries one through the times to now...I feel like she is not shying away from the new by suggesting the old but rather suggests our contemporary world holds potential for innovation, but only if we take into account the importance of intimate, personal, tactile, meaningful & clear communication. For Heidi connectivity sits at the centre of all this & we fully agree. We need to look at 'what makes us human' & 'what makes us as humans feel things are meaningful' and not just functionality.
While building the innovations and realising the dreams of having a transparently governed, fully connected and wholly inclusive world on the blockchain, we cannot for one moment forget how we are influencing and setting up the next platform for connectivity & with this comes great responsibility right? Lets not forget that the blockchain is not what 'will' make us human, but that we already are what we need, it will only enhance the connectivity we already have. #designthinking #ux

PS - @littlekidogo is me and my partner's concept and it means 'little by little'. ('Kidogo' means little in Swahili) Also he is tall and I am small 😅 if that makes any sense. Also we are completely new here and trying to find out what to do and how to do it, but take note we are here to make friends, not earn coin/s--------------------[oops the cat did that] and not sure how to go about starting out... what would you advise?
