Pisorrojo. Danza Contemporánea // Pisorrojo. Contemporary dance

Hoy tuve la gran oportunidad de hacer clases de danza contemporánea en la Universidad Central de Venezuela UCV, institución de educación superior más antigua del país. Fue declarada patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO en el año 2000 y es un privilegio poder entrenar en un espacio con tanta historia.

Today I had the great opportunity to do contemporary dance classes at the Universidad Central de Venezuela UCV, the oldest institution of higher education in the country. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000 and it is a privilege to train in a space with so much history.

Un amigo me invitó luego de ver en mi estado que estaba ofreciendo entrenar y enseñar lo que he aprendido en las telas sin costo alguno y por supuesto no podía decir que no.

A friend invited me after seeing in my state that I was offering to train and teach what I have learned in fabrics at no cost and of course I could not say no.

Fue una experiencia maravillosa, es lo que estaba buscando un espacio donde poder ver clases con la sensibilidad, el conocimiento y la hermosa vibra del maestro Elio Martínez, un gran bailarín, director y maestro de gran trayectoria de ésta compañía llamada Pisorrojo que surgió en 1981 de la mano del Grishka Holguín precursor, bailarín y maestro al cual se le debe las primeras manifestaciones de danza moderna en nuestro país.

It was a wonderful experience, it is what I was looking for a space where I could see classes with the sensitivity, knowledge and the beautiful vibe of the teacher Elio Martínez, a great dancer, director and teacher of great trajectory of this company called Pisorrojo that emerged in 1981 from the hand of the precursor Grishka Holguín, dancer and teacher to whom the first manifestations of modern dance in our country are due.

Fue una clase magistral, abrimos el encuentro con una meditación inicial, el maestro dice que la clase depende mucho de este momento, el estar sin moverse permite captar mejor el movimiento, tomar conciencia de todo para abrirnos a este proceso. Luego un calentamiento de yoga, hicimos un poco de técnica de centro y finalizamos con unos laterales muy divertidos y dinámicos para la soltura, el ritmo y lateralidades.

It was a master class, we opened the encounter with an initial meditation, the teacher says that the class depends a lot on this moment where being without moving allows us to better capture the movement, become aware of everything to open ourselves to this process. Then a yoga warm-up, we did a little center technique and we ended up with very funny and dynamic sides for ease, rhythm and lateralities

Hice muy bonita química con el grupo y a pesar de ser la nueva no sentí ningún tipo rechazo o distancia al contrario me recibieron con mucho cariño, la verdad qué más le puedo pedir al universo, Gracias por éste bello espacio. Por supuesto seguiré entrando a estas clases. Estoy muy agradecida con la vida, soy afortunada.

I did very nice chemistry with the group and despite being the only new one I did not feel any rejection or distance on the contrary they received me with much love, the truth what more can I ask the universe. Of course I will continue to enter these classes. I am very grateful to life, I am lucky.
