This is what they call a mountain dragon is or dragon lizard, endemic to Australia. It lives in the uplands of New South Wales and Victoria, as well as in Tasmania. They are mainly found in dry woodlands and they love the open areas for sunning themselves. This one i saw in the woodlands of the Blue Mountain in Sydney while hiking sadly i would say many of these beautiful lizards are perishing with the ongoing bush fires that Australia is experiencing still till today.
