Back a few weeks ago as I was approaching 60 for a REP number I was paying a lot of attention to the top of the home page of my blog. Every time I would go to that page I would glance up at the top to see if I had made any progress in reaching that milestone.

One thing that I happened to notice was that I had made 466 posts around then and the quick math in my head told me that I should hit my 500th post somewhere around Christmas Day or Christmas Eve if I continued to make it with posting like I should.
So here we...
So here we are nine days out from Christmas and I will be damned if my home page doesn’t still say 466 as write this Daily Dose for 12/16/18. I guess if I decided to start asking questions about this and why it seems to be stuck someone would just come back and tell me it is just a “cosmetic error” and not really an issue. Have any of you noticed anything similar with your home page?

I know I missed a couple Daily Doses recently and so the number should be shy but I know I have posted plenty between Thanksgiving weekend and today. I guess stopping the counting the number of posts on the Daily Dose might be part of the cost reduction process for Steemit Inc and steemit.com. I can’t see that one post per day and adding one tally to the total number would save much but what the hell do I know. That tally counter might be the most expensive piece of the puzzle on the blockchain.

Here is where these other “plug ins” or other programs like Steem World come in helpful and I am beginning to trust what I see coming from them more than I do the mother ship of Steemit.

I will say that when I refresh my blog home page for a brief second or two before the 466 number shows up it does show 7,222 post and I believe that number is the combined total of actual posts and comments I have made since I have been on here. That 7,222 does actually add up with what Steem World shows for me too when you add the 491 posts with the 6,731 comments I have made.

So maybe it is just a “cosmetic” error but I hope they get that damn thing working before Christmas or Christmas Eve since I will probably have the title of the Daily Dose mention it as my 500th post and people will look at the home page and see 466 and think I am crazy. The fact is I might be crazy but I hope people couldn’t point to that as the reason to believe I am, I surely know 466 from 500. Thirty four.
Is "blockchain"...
Is “blockchain” one word or two? I have seen it written both as “blockchain” and “block chain” so just what is the correct way to write that so I don’t keep making a mistake with that term. I have a really old computer that wouldn’t recognize several new words with the spell check program that is in it this old Microsoft Windows 7 and I would like to at least get that term correct.

I have adopted a couple of my own words as you folks know on here with guzbuck and upVote. I get red lines under each of those each time I type them. I also know plenty of people combine “up” and “vote” to form “upvote” and so if you are wondering how I claim “upvote” as my own word I don’t. I claim “upVote” with the capital “V” so there is some emphasis on the “vote” portion of the word. There is no question that guzbuck originated from the Daily Dose so no need to even explain that one.
Today is Sunday...
Today is Sunday and this Daily Dose is well past what has been the normal posting time for Daily Doses and if I don’t wrap this up right now it will end up cutting into mine and Blondie’s morning church services on TV and with these damn smart TV’s old pastor Joel might know I would be sliding in late to church services, they can watch you. You know that right?

Well, I rarely look at my stats on steemit because I use steemworld and I checked your account: 492 posts|6,737 comments|6,828 replies is what it shows for you. Since I'm replying to it I'm sure this one is included in the mix. Means you are on track for Christmas, but you'll have to be pretty regular :) A good thing from my perspective.
Blockchain comes up with a red line and block chain doesn't on Steemit's (redline) speller but neither one gets the squiggle from Google. I have to tell you that I trust Google this time. Both are acceptable. YMMV.
So. The sisters. There's a bit of story that might need telling somewhere along the line, but the shortish answer is that I went to a 'revival tent meeting' in an effort to get closer to those two sisters. That didn't work out so well for me, but...
In '78 after my divorce I got to spend some time with the elder sister. I knew that the younger one had married the money and sis told me she wasn't very happy. I found out that not only was Carla smoking hot but she was a pretty damn nice person. If I hadn't been such a lunatic drunk it might have gone somewhere between us but, well, I was about as dependable as a politician with out even that much moral value. It's one of those things I'd wonder about if I were the sort that looks back very often.

I was on time for church, only because it starts with commercials. Glad you finished the story of the twins, had me wondering for a while. I guess I am going with blockchain from here on out, steemit.com can't count so why should I trust them to be able to spell is how I look at it.
I didn't do so well in the Teamup poker game this afternoon and as a team we took a big hit, one player no showed and the rest of us just didn't have it today. But it is early in the season, six more weeks to go and anything can happen.
I did a little better in the late game that just finished taking 3rd and got $1.70 SBD so that helps a little for the SBI funding.
So we will see a post on the tamale festival, right?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts like you do. I go by what steemWorld says but that is just me. I figure if I look in the same place I will not get upset by all the different numbers :D
It doesn't really upset me but it does make me wonder just what all they don't get correct. I use steemworld mainly to check how my voting power is, like it really makes a difference between 2 cents or one, but I do.
I am kind of forced to share my thoughts, if I don't do it who will? :)

As for the levelt it seems so slow once you get to 60 to go up higher it just crawls

It could be worse, if Blondie decides to go back to the local church I may just just continue my TV church services and ditch the PJ's. That would teach them to be looking in on me while I am looking in on them.

You wrote 492 posts, trust me, I know things ;) hihihi, yeah, trust SteemWorld, that is the way to go for now. I just checked your steemit page and the number is the same as it is on SteemWorld so I guess it got fixed which is nice. Blockchain is the correct way to write blockchain, at least according to Grammarly and I would trust that spell checker with almost anything.

Wow, coming up on 500 posts already!?! I wonder how many I have read? I would guess easily over 100, probably closer to 200, now only if I was better at commenting more ;) In any case it's been a pleasure reading your posts my friend. I hope there are another 500 more!
Thanks Hippie. I went over 400 and some consecutive days before I actually missed a day from when I started here on Sept.12, 2017 so the numbers added up pretty quickly plus I entered some writing contests along the way when I actually had time to write so all in all I am seven posts from 500 as of today's Daily Dose.
I do appreciate you reading and I would guess you have probably read at least half of them if I had to put a number on it. I can't guarantee another 500, but I promise I will get another seven in, as long as I am still breathing and can type.

TrufflePigHowdy sir sultnpapper! A windows 7! lol...have you thought of upgrading? At some point they'll force you to I'm sure but I like windows 7, one of our machines still runs it. I don't trust the new tvs, I don't know how they watch you but I've heard that, do they have a small camera like the laptops and PC's?
The laptop I draw with has Windows 98 on it, so I have upgraded. That laptop doesn't even have wireless capability so I never even go on the internet with it.
I would shit can it but that drawing program is no longer available and I still love working with it. In fact the original computer I had it on the screen died, the machine would power up but display nothing.
A friend suggest I go on Goodwill.com and look at their auctions, he said he would damn near guarantee that I could find that same exact computer on there and by it for less than $20 with shipping. He was right, I paid $5.00 for the computer and $12 and change for the shipping from a Goodwill store in El Paso.
When Goodwill sells computers the pull the hard drive out so they come without one unless they strip them and re-furbish the entire unit. This one came without the hard drive, all I had to do was take the hard drive from my dead one and put it in the one I got from them and plugged it in. Worked like a charm and the whole computer damn near was in new condition for a 15 year or older computer at the time.
The screen has since cracked and I can still use it but it has a big black area I have to work around. In fact I need to go back on Goodwill and see if I can find another now that I am talking about it, thanks for making me even think of it, I have gotten so use to the black spot I never even give it a thought. Pretty soon (maybe even now) I probably won't be able to even find an old model like that.
My understanding is they do have a small camera, some are nearly the size of a ball point pen tip where the ink comes out. That is how small they can make those things, just like when we were kids and the spy shows on TV were showing the spies using.
howdy again sir sultnpapper! wow that is a place I've never thought of looking, goodwill.com. I might have to check that out or have the Mrs. do it, she's a penny pincher thank God. lol. I guess when we buy a new tv we gotta research and see if we can find where the camera is and cover it. hey you can't be spending all this time talking to people! you can't be working today right? lol.
