PO = Projected Ownership % based on Thu-Mon, 16 games.
Only the highest PO players are listed.

Chalk
Baltimore Ravens - $5000, 14.21% PO

  • The leagues #1 DEF is the unanimous winner here. The Ravens have 8 sacks and 10 turnovers forced, plus hey have 25 pt and 17 pt outings under their belt for an average of 21 FPPG. Until they score below 10 pts a game they probably won't be moving from the chalk, which seems unlikely this week because they face Jacksonville which means...Blake Bortles.

Pivot
Green Bay Packers - $4800

  • Green Bay's DEF has yet to get an INT this year and they have put up poor FPPG thus far (9 and 2). This is where they redeem themselves against a poor Andy Dalton led offense. The Bengals offensive line has been dreadful and Dalton had a horrible 4 INT day in Week 1. If Green Bay can end up terrorizing Dalton, big points can be on the verge for this DEF.

GPP
Philadelphia Eagles - $4500

  • The Eagles will get to feast on the same fruit as the Packers with a sack-a-plenty matchup against the Giants. If you witnessed Monday night's game against the Lions, it was evident to see that LT and the offensive line as a whole struggled. The Eagles boast one of the best defensive lines in football, with 4 sacks in each game this year, and should get to Eli Manning all day. Only warning is the Eagles secondary is busted up with 3 starters out. So if Manning finds any time to get the ball to OBJ, the Eagles may actually be in trouble.

Fade
Buffalo Bills - $4300, 7.66% PO

  • The Bills have put up modest DEF numbers the past two weeks and haven't allowed a passing TD this season. Denver will more than likely end that streak this week. The Bill's defensive line will be missing starting DE Shaq Lawson and backup DT Jerel Worthy. Starting DT Marcell Dareus is also in fear of missing the game. The lack of depth to develop a pass rush will only help QB Trevor Siemian and the surging Bronco's offense keep up their hot streak.

Contrarian
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - $4600, 4% PO

  • This is a direct reflection on if QB Sam Bradford plays. If he does, then this play is full contrarian based on how well the Vikings played in their season opener. If QB Case Keenum plays, this pick is a pivot. Either way, you cannot ignore that Tampa Bay lead all DEFs in pts last week with 19. One of these QBs just make this pick a lot stronger.

Sleeper
Miami Dolphins - $5100

  • They're high on the salary chart but they're playing the Jets and QB Josh McCown. Need I say more?

Bargain (< $4500)
Detroit Lions - $4200

  • The Lions are facing a high scoring offense in the Atlanta Falcons this week but as we all know, DEFs in fantasy score off of return TDs, not shutouts. The Lions are doing a great job of making them happen defensively and with special teams averaging 16.5 FPPG. Their price is a steal but their matchup isn't pretty.
